The University of Massachusetts Club in Boston invited non-members in the building to join the Club’s Breakfast Club, allowing them to enjoy breakfast every day of the month for a flat rate of $39.95.
During the months of April and May, employees from the building visited the Club for breakfast every day. The servers and receptionist formed relationships – exchanging names, learning their likes and dislikes and noting where they enjoyed sitting.
The leader of the pack of these breakfast clubbers inquired about the genesis of this Club, which led Member Relations Director Jacqueline Hayes and Membership Director Stephanie Lyon to approach the group with a membership opportunity, as the Breakfast Club for non-members would cease to exist at the end of May.
The breakfast clubbers were distraught with the news of no more breakfasts with their new Employee Partner friends and began talks with Jacqueline on becoming Members. During their last breakfast, the group was greeted with mimosas as a Fond Farewell. And, so they could watch over the breakfast clubbers and remind them of the membership opportunity, Jacqueline and Stephanie created foam-core cut-outs of themselves.
One breakfast clubber – now a new Member – later sent the photo above to Jacqueline. Magic Moments and lots of laughs for all involved.
Good job Jacqueline, Stephanie, and the rest of the morning staff, who all played a role in helping create the breakfast club magic.
