Last month, Aliso Viejo Country Club in Aliso Viejo, California, hosted their Charity Classic event and raised an amazing $179,999! More than 150 people attended the “Dancing with Our Stars” Gala and another 140 played in the Golf Tournament. The Gala evening included silent/live auctions, an elegant five-star-inspired dinner, a ballroom dance competition, live entertainment and a number performed by professional dancers. During the event, the attendees had the opportunity to bid on a variety of auction items that included a seven-day trip to Nicaragua, a night out in Hollywood, a beautiful diamond necklace, and so much more.
The Golf Tournament was a big success thanks to the energetic live auction, unique silent auction, tons of food offered to the players and best of all the, VIP goody bags. Fun was had by all participants on the course, as well as when they finished and, that evening, attended the CharityFest Concert featuring a country band, along with an array of wines to sample and foods to enjoy.
Hats off to the Employee Partners (pictured in two photos above) and Charity Classic Committee of Aliso Viejo Country Club for going above and beyond in every detail, bringing in an extensive number of sponsors (below) at several different levels and pulling off another impressive and record-breaking Charity Classic!
A Member from Aliso Viejo Country Club in Aliso Viejo, California, recently was visiting Marina Vallarta Club de Golf in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and, just before going out on the golf course, mentioned that he was celebrating his birthday.
The staff took advantage of the Magic Moment opportunity and surprised him at the end of his round with a birthday celebration Mexican-style. They presented him with a piece of cake, a margarita and a rendition of the traditional Mexican birthday song, Las Mañanitas.
The celebration was completely unexpected and provided a true Magic Moment for the Member. Kudos to the Marina Vallarta Employee Partners who took advantage of the moment!
Who dunnit? That was the big question being asked during the recent Murder Mystery HUB event at the Center Club Orange County in California and attended by Members of nearby Center Club, Canyon Crest Country Club, Aliso Viejo Country Club and Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club.
The mystery revealed itself five days prior to the event with clues hidden at all four clubs and hints delivered via social media to hype the event. Members then searched the clubs in the days leading up to the event, looking for “bloody” finger prints, “blood-stained” notes and wanted flyers and those finding the clues then turned them in to receive a bounty.
During the Murder Mystery event, attendees wined and dined while watching members of the Center Club Business Leadership Committee – the cast of characters – set the scene by playing suspicious characters, such as Misty Rainbow and Mugwort Buttercup. The Members and Guests then mingled and questioned each other to find out who murdered whom. Of course, along with interrogating one another, the Members and Guests also got to know one another, making new contacts and building relationships.
Eerie music, crime scenes, rumors and mystery were all part of the evening, making it a scary successful night.
Congratulations to the staff at Aliso Viejo Country Club in Aliso Viejo, California! The club raised a record-breaking $200,000 during its 2014 ClubCorp Charity Classic events weekend, topping the previous company record – set by Aliso Viejo in 2013 – by more than $40,000.
More than 110 attended the June 6 dinner and gala with live and silent auctions while 144 participated in the June 7 golf tournament and an additional 60 enjoyed an outdoor concert on the greens by Retrograde.
Attending the dinner and gala were Augie Nieto, founder of Augie’s Quest and chairman of the board of directors at ALS TDI, and his wife, Lynn; Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp president and CEO; and Beau and Brandi Bianchi, owners of Bianchi Vineyards. During the event, attendees got the opportunity to bid on a variety of auction items, including wine tastings and packages, golf getaways and trips to Italy and Nicaragua.
Among those participating in the golf tournament was Brian Smith, CEO and president of Signature Control Systems – title sponsor of the event – playing in a foursome with Kim Goldenstein, who hit a hole-in-one on the par-3, 155-yard No. 5 hole. Other attendees included Wing Lam, co-founder of Wahoo’s Fish Taco, and Heather Smith, vice president of QURE Water.
“I am so excited and proud that Aliso Viejo has, again, set a company record raising funds during this year’s Charity Classic, which benefits three worthwhile and deserving charities,” said Matt Zuckerman, Aliso Viejo general manager. “This year’s events were amazing and are a testament to the generosity and hard work of our members, the club’s staff and the community.”
Congratulations again to Matt and his entire staff, who dedicated hundreds of hours of their time to make the event such a success.
