There is no that Members at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, Louisiana, can not take notice of the club’s pink flamingo-themed Christmas in July display (above), which features a Santa flamingo, a bright beach ball and inner tube and even a big, pink cocktail. The stockings on the tree are even filled with promotional material they can take with them.
Rivers Club in Pittsburgh took a more dazzling approach with their display (pictured below). Strings of sparkling Christmas lights and promotional cards cover a wall, a glistening reminder that now is perfect time to plan for the holidays.
Kimberly Varvel, Private Event Director at Silicon Valley Capital Club in San Jose, California, and Concierge, Eric Lopez, put their creative caps on and put together an eye-catching Christmas in July display that is sure to get Members thinking ahead when it comes to their holiday party planning.
Even though the 12 days of Christmas technically takes place from Christmas to January 5th, a couple of Employee Partners from our marketing team thought it would be fun to create a ClubCorp version of the song for the 12 days leading up to Christmas! Maybe you saw our social media posts and tweets? If not, have no fear! Here’s a copy of the song for you to sing along to and cheer! We’ll save you the trouble of going day by day; here’s the ClubCorp Christmas Song for Day 12! Enjoy!
On the twelfth day of Christmas

The holidays at Oak Pointe Country Club are all about creating magic moments for Members! The Club started the holiday season off with a Pumpkin Pie Family Night, wherekids get to play chef and make their own pumpkin pies. Ingredients are lined up on long tables and Executive Chef Pat Srock helps the littlest Members prepare and mix the pies. While the pies cook, Member Relations Coordinator Dori Gulick entertains the children with games and races.
During Gingerbread Night the tables overflow with candy, frosting and gingerbread houses. Parents and grandparents come to watch, help decorate and dine. This year, two special guests – an elf and one of Santa’s reindeer – stopped in to check on the children.
The Santa Brunch is the grand finale with Santa Claus sitting in a sleigh – made of real gingerbread and frosting! – surrounded by Christmas trees, reindeer and even a mailbox for Santa’s letters. Entire families, including the parents and grandparents, get their photos taken with Santa. By the end of the event, the mailbox is full of letters from the kids, who each later receive a letter back from Santa. Many of the kids inevitably ask, “Where is Santa’s real sleigh?” and the answer is always, "Up on the roof with the reindeer, of course!"
Great job to the Oak Pointe staff for working together as a team to offer these wonderful events to Members!
Happy November, everyone!
Some of you associate this month with Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, the start of the Holiday season - maybe even No Shave November!
While all of those are true, one of those stands out more than the rest: the start of the Holiday season. Yes, it’s only November 1 and no one is worrying about what presents to buy yet (or if you are, kudos - you're ahead of the game!), but everyone should start planning for family dinners and other holiday gatherings. … and what better place to create magic moments and lasting memories than at a Club in the ClubCorp family!
Would you rather spend Thanksgiving in your own home? Let us take care of the cooking! Order turkeys to go from Canyon Creek.

Okay, we may be getting ahead of ourselves...
Holiday planning can be a daunting task, unless you have the right team on your side...and start now. With that in mind, we offer the count down of our top seven holiday planning tips:
7) Have Fun Planning
With the information of the technological age at our fingertips, the internet is a fantastic resource for the latest trends in events. One of our favorite places to see new ideas is on Pinterest. You can look at Center Club’s Pinterest page (or other ClubCorp Club's Pinterest page) for visual ideas on invitations, décor, favors, vendors, food and cocktails. Allow yourself to take the time enjoying the creativity of planning an event.
6) Mix it Up
Many times the holiday gathering is the only point in the entire year that some groups come together as a whole. Encourage interaction between your guests with friendly competitions, games or efforts. Mix in giving back. Afterall, it is the holiday season and it is always stylish to contribute to your community. The power of guest numbers at a holiday party can be used for an immediate and significant charitable contribution. Link your holiday party to a charity by collecting gifts or donation items.
5) Be Holiday Spirit Smart
Signature Drinks are a great option for holiday parties. A Signature cocktail adds a customized touch to your event and will streamline the beverage service. Offering a bar is a staple at holiday events. Be sure to have the bar stop serving drinks ½ hour to an hour before the party ends so that the lasting memories are good ones.
4) Hire the Right Vendors
When shopping for vendors for floral, photobooths, lighting, DJs, etc. use your resources for referrals. Don’t hire anyone for whom you don't have a reference. Your ClubCorp Club's Private Events Directors have lists of vendors who always deliver.
3) Communicate Clearly
Make sure that your guests know the correct start time of the event, the dress, how to get to the event and what their parking instructions are. Have the menu, vendors and any special details finalized with the venue at least three weeks prior to the event. The venue will also need your final guest count and set up for the event finalized at least 10 days prior. Making sure your details are finalized and communicated in advance will ensure that the party is executed with precision according to your vision.
2) Start NOW
Yes, in July or August. Scheduling is important. You want to be sure you have the date you want at your venue and that your guests have blocked the date for your party before anyone else’s. Perhaps most importantly, reserve plenty of time to iron out the details before the bustle of the holiday season takes hold of your stress levels.
1) Location, Location, Location
Location is paramount to the success of your holiday party. The newly reinvented Center Club’s contemporary elegance is the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable event if you are in Orange County, California. If you are elsewhere, ClubCorp has more than 150 fantastic holiday party venues located across the country.
