Congratulations to Randy Mattingley, Director of Tennis at The Clubs of Kingwood in Kingwood, Texas, who has been awarded the Alex Gordon United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Professional of the Year at the 2014 Tennis Teachers Conference in New York.
This is the highest award that a USPTA professional can attain. Randy is a USPTA Master Professional with more than 36 years of experience and has served in many capacities of the Texas Division of the USPTA as well as on the national USPTA Board of Directors. He has also been named the USPTA Professional of the Year twice in Texas.

Congratulations to Carlos Aguirre, Tennis Director at April Sound Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, and the kids from the club’s Junior Tennis Program. The team placed second at the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Grand Prix State Tournament at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch.
The April Sound team qualified to represent the North Houston area by placing in the top two in the rankings following the area qualifying Grand Prix tournaments. Carlos was extremely proud that the kids were given the opportunity to attend the event, a fun-filled weekend during which the kids learned valuable life lessons about teamwork and hard work. The event was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the kids to bond together and build lasting memories.
The USPTA Tennessee Chapter has awarded Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club's Tennis Director Bill Riddle the 2013 Tennessee Tennis Facility of the Year award!
Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club tennis offers a full schedule of social and competitive events, programs and activities for Members and the local community. Some programs include, camps, charity events, USTA Jr. Team Tennis, 10 and under tennis programs, local high school tennis matches, USPTA certification workshops and testing as well the USPTA summer coaches' workshop.
The award presentation took place on Saturday during the annual coaches' workshop at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville.
