AvidGolfer recently revealed its highly anticipated Best of Private Clubs 2015 listing, and we’re pleased to announce that ClubCorp was ranked among numerous categories!

In the Best Country Club – First Class Category, meaning the Initiation Fee is between $25,001 and $59,999, two ClubCorp clubs nabbed top spots. Stonebriar Country Club was named No. 2, and Gleneagles Country Club, called “the best of the best,” was named No. 4.

The Best Country Club – Mid-Priced Category (Initiation Fees between $10,001 and $25,000) saw two more ClubCorp clubs win titles. Las Colinas Country Club came in fourth, and Stonebridge Ranch Country Club won the No. 5 title with its innovative and  “unbelievable” dual membership – a great value for its Members. Touted for its consistently excellent service, AvidGolfer said, “If you like Sunday brunch, it doesn’t get much better than Las Colinas Country Club.”

In the category Best Country Club – Value-Priced Category, ClubCorp clubs swept all top five places! Coming in at No. 1 was Trophy Club Country Club, followed by Brookhaven Country Club at No. 2. The Clubs of Prestonwood earned the No. 3 spot, followed by Canyon Creek Country Club and Hackberry Creek Country Club in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively. AvidGolfer said, “This category could be dubbed, ‘The Category that ClubCorp Built;’ it is true, all five of these clubs are ClubCorp clubs, and that just further proves how the company excels at cultivating top-notch, family-friendly country clubs that don’t cost an arm and a leg.”

Stonebriar Country Club came in first place in overall Best Value, and Stonebridge Ranch Country Club was named No. 3 on the same list, followed by Trophy Club Country Club at No. 4. Timarron Country Club was named the No. 1 Best Golf Club in the First-Class Category, as well.

Congratulations to our wonderful DFW-area clubs!

Actuaries put the odds of an amateur golfer making a hole-in-one at 12,500-to-1. With four or five par 3's on a normal 18-hole course, that means that an amateur golfer might expect to get an ace once every 3,000 rounds of golf or so.

Here's where the math gets fuzzy.

At 9 years old, Evan Kugle is barely 3,000 days old. The odds say that Evan would need to have played one round of golf every day of his life from the day of his birth in order for him to have a hole-in-one.

He has two of them.

Evan carded his second hole-in-one last Sunday on the Hills Course at ClubCorp's Stonebridge Ranch Country Club. He aced hole # 21 of the 27-hold course from the Gold tees, hitting a 5 iron from 121 yards.

Evan is a student of Stonebridge Ranch Director of Instruction Johnny Gray and has been in the Junior Academy for over 2 years now. Gray said of his student "Even is an exceptional kid and a phenomenal player. I'm constantly astounded by his abilities."

At this rate, Evan might have four by the time he graduates High School.
