Texas Tech Club Second Annual Burns Supper Fills the House

Men wearing kilts at Scottish heritage event

The Texas Tech Club in Lubbock recently highlighted the Scottish heritage and living legacy of Scotland’s Poet Laureate Robert Burns (1759-1796) during the second annual Robert Burns Supper. The celebration is an international tradition with people from all over the world gathering to honor Burns on his birthday (Jan. 25) by reading poems, addressing the haggis and enjoying a glass of Scotch or two.

This year more than 185 Members and Guests gathered for the event at The Texas Tech Club – more than twice the turnout last year and the club teamed with The Lubbock Arts Alliance to showcase local art and with the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, which posted photos of the event on its website.

Kudos to the club for hosting the event, which falls in line with club’s WE ARE Community advocates and reaches beyond the four walls of the club to the West Texas community.
