New Update on Persimmon Project!
Dave’s Construction Diary
Commentary from Dave Dube’ on Persimmon’s Greens and Bunker Renovation Project
Big week ahead.
Goals for the week beginning June 1st.
The project so far is definitely meeting our expectations! I, Dave, am very pleased with the progress so far!
Holes #1,2 and 3 competed with destruction (excavation and removal of greenside bunker material) & construction phases. Old sod and subsoil removed. Rip process to remove roots complete. Verification of green footprint and contours finished. New greens mix installed for greens and collars to match original contours. Ready for grow-in (completion phase).
Holes #9/18, plus main putting and chipping greens in progress for destruction and construction phases.
Bunkers on #1-5, plus 9/18 and 17 completed with destruction and construction phases through installation of gravel layer. Bunkers on #7,15 & 16 start destruction phase (sand and liner removal).
The integrity of the greens we have done so far has been excellent. It’s difficult to maintain the original shape of a green over time, but in this regard Persimmon’s appear to have been well maintained, something that makes our renovation project just a bit easier.
