Persimmon Construction Update - Dave's Diary
Dave’s Construction Diary
Commentary from Dave Dube’ on Persimmon’s Greens and Bunker Renovation Project
Week ending July 3, 2015
Wow. Persimmon’s greens are finished. Greenside bunkers have been renovated with new Billy Bunker liners and all eighteen greens, plus practice areas have been rebuilt in less than 45 days. The last and most difficult green, number 15, was completed today. It required an additional 20 hours of work to get the contours to match the modifications made by architect Greg Nash, but we got there and the green was sprigged along with numbers 16 and 17 to wrap up construction.
Now comes the hard part as we enter the phase I like to call Water, Watch and Wait.
This is when our crew takes over to begin a process of watering, rolling and cutting the new greens until they are ready for play in about a hundred days. The hard part for members is the Wait part. It will be tempting for some to get out on a new green and take a test putt, or two. Please resist that temptation. It takes a full hundred days of care from our crew and Mother Nature to get them to where they will be ready for you.
Now it’s on to the other projects on both Persimmon and Ironwood that we had planned to accomplish this summer. We will continue to make frequent posts to the blog so you can keep up on our progress.
We are also posting pictures on our Facebook site for you to see what we’re doing this summer. You can view them at www.facebook.com/anthemcc
