James Colberg

James Colberg
Role:Service Director
Serving Since:2016

James started in the hospitality industry nearly 20 years ago as a bartender, enjoying the fast pace of slinging beers and creating celebrations. After stints as Weight Loss Coach and Mortgage Loan Underwriter, James found his way back to the Service Industry as a Manager at the Bonaventure Brewing Company. Located inside the beautiful Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, James began his management journey serving guests at a fun and upbeat bar in the center of the city of the stars!

Over the years, James has managed a fantastic wood fired pizza restaurant in San Diego, a high volume nightclub in Pasadena, and a Jazz and Fondue bar near Covina, California. After moving to Texas, James successfully worked as an Assistant General Manager, and began to develop a reputation as a fun and motivating manager, who could captivate his employees. James was brought on board with Front Burner Restaurants to open new locations for the highly profitable Twin Peaks restaurants. Working as a store opener in Ft. Worth, Texas, and in the training location in Addison, James began to miss the west coast, and asked to transfer the Scottsdale location.

The move to Arizona lead the Colberg Family to Anthem! James and his beautiful wife Christy fell in love with Anthem, and have quickly made it home. After years in restaurants and bars, James heard of the role as Service Manager at Anthem Golf and Country Club, and was excited by the challenge. New to the position, James is determined to bring the same motivating and team building skills to the club, and create a service staff that is unified and dedicated to providing exceptional and friendly service.

James and Christy married in 2005, and gave birth to their daughter Ella in 2007. Ella had a heart defect, and after five months of love on this earth, Ella went to heaven. James and Christy were blessed with Jackson and Tyler, amazing twin brothers.

The Colberg's are excited to be in the Anthem Community, love running and exercise, and find joy in the ability to design a life of meaning.
