Born and raised in Syracuse, Indiana, Steve grew up across the street from the local golf course. At a young age, Steve showed great interest in the game and his parents enrolled him in the junior golf program. Steve quickly excelled winning many junior tournaments at the local level.
While still an amateur Steve won the Indiana Amateur and Indiana Junior Amateur. After high school, Steve took his game to Florida where he played collegiately at the Johnson and Whales and Nova Southeastern.
Steve left school to pursue playing for a living. Steve competed on the Gateway Tour, Pepsi Tour, and NGA Hooters Tour. Steve won several events including a Gateway Tour event at PGA National. After an unsuccessful attempt at the PGA Tour’s Qualifying School, Steve moved to Phoenix to continue to work on his game. Steve accepted a position at Anthem Golf and Country Club where he worked on his game as well as learned the business of golf.
Steve left for the summer to return to Indiana and recover from some injuries. After healing, Steve took a position at the Biltmore in Arizona in order to return to Phoenix and continue to work on his game. A position became available at Anthem in 2010 and Steve happily returned.
Steve continue to compete in some professional events winning a Pepsi Tour event in 2013 and holds the course records from Ironwood from both the black tees (62) and the rocks (63).
