|Role:||Head Tennis Professional|
A founder of the Brookhaven Tennis Academy, David Anderson was recognized by Tennis Magazine as one of the “Top Teachers in the United States.” Among the numerous awards he received are USPTA Pro of the Year in Texas, Dallas Tennis Association Pro Volunteer of the Year, and the coveted Lloyd Session Educational Merit Award for his contribution to Junior Tennis.
In addition to a successful playing career (he had a Top 20 National Ranking and was the 1999 Texas Sectional Champion in Men’s 35 and over) Anderson, under the leadership of Stephen Smith, was at the heart of the World’s First College Curriculum for training coaches heading to careers in tennis. His unique approach to player development has helped his students capture State, Sectional, National, International and Junior Grand Slam titles. Many of his students became touring professionals and successful collegiate players. Perhaps the most important influence of David’s coaching is reflected in the people whom he helped prepare for success on and off the court by enhancing their lifetime skills and character development.
