Originally from California, Dave is recognized as one of the top tennis professionals in the nation.  He has spent more than 30 years in the country club business, holding positions of Director of Tennis, Director of Sports, and General Manager.  His extensive ClubCorp experience includes Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA, Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, CA, as well as the Metropolitan Club in Austin, TX.  He has served as President of the USPTA Texas Division and was selected as US Tennis Professional of the Year, including twice as Texas Tennis Professional of the Year.  On a National level, Dave has served on the USPTA Board of Directors for 10 years.  In the past, Dave also directed one of the largest and most successful junior development programs in Texas.  For his efforts, he was awarded the Lloyd Sessions Educational Award by the Texas Tennis Association for advancing the development of Junior Tennis in Texas. 

As a player, Sivertson received a tennis scholarship to Long Beach State University in California, and served as team captain, Most Valuable Player and was an All-PCAA player. He was a touring pro early in his career, competing in France, Denmark, Finland, Turkey, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Greece and Germany. Dave has held many State and National Rankings. As of September 1st 2016, Dave held the #1 ranking in the United States for Men’s 65 Senior Division. Dave was also selected to represent the USA in the World Team Championships in Croatia September 2016. 

Among Dave’s other accomplishments, he has been a frequent speaker at conventions for the US Professional Tennis Association, Club Managers Association of America and International Heath, Racquet & Sports Club Association.  He is also an author of a tennis industry training manual and reference guide designed to teach and inform tennis professionals of changes they can make to produce a more successful tennis operation. 

On a personal note, Dave has been married to his wife Jeanne for 28 years and they have a son Chris, 23 years old.

Ginny LeBlanc

Ginny joined The Canyon Creek Tennis Staff on January 2009 to co-manage the Pro Shop.  She is not new to the Canyon Creek Tennis Family; Ginny and her family have been members since 1984. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas and did graduate work at the Center for Translation Studies. 

Ginny brings not only a passion for the game of tennis but extensive customer service, training and organizational experience acquired throughout her career in a variety of industry sectors.

Michael Martinez

Role: Tennis Pro
Serving Since: 2009

Michael Martinez has been at Canyon Creek since August, 2009 and in that time has developed a strong following. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1993 and was a NCAA Division I All American. While playing for OU, he won the Big 8 Conference titles in Singles, Doubles, and Team Tennis.  He went on to play on the ATP Tour, earning ATP points in both singles and doubles.  He was ranked as high as 35 in the nation in NCAA Division 1 and top 15 in doubles.   

Michael was also an assistant coach for the University of Oklahoma Men’s Tennis Team after graduation.  He is USPTA, P-1 certified.

Alex Zavgorodni

Alex Zavgorodni has a Master's Degree from the Special University in Russia for sports teachers. He was a Kremlin Cup referee and spent 6 years in Mexico with an academy established in Spain for very strong players. Alex was the Russian National Champion 5 times in singles, 5 times in doubles, and 3 times in mixed doubles. He also was the USSR Cup Champion twice and in 1999 was the Texas Men's 45 Sectional winner.

Alex was the Russian National Coach for Juniors working two years with Yvegeny Kafelnikov.  He has been at Canyon Creek since January, 2000.

Peter Hancy

Role: Tennis Pro
Serving Since: 2011

Peter Hancy joined the Canyon Creek staff in September of 2011 and brings with him a full resume of Division I Collegiate Tennis at Oklahoma State where he received a BS in Economics and was two time Big Eight Singles and Doubles Champion. He also coached at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he was voted Coach of the year award for the Conference.  He led the team to a Conference Championship and qualified for the NCAA Div. 1 tournament.

Peter grew up in Australia and was ranked #1 in the state of Victoria 12's-18's and top 8 in Australia in 14's-18's. He reached a career high of #4 in 16's. He is the former Director of Tennis at Hackberry Creek Country Club and Head Tennis Professional at Las Colinas Country Club.  Peter has also served the tennis community as both President of the Dallas Professional Tennis Association and Chairman of the Dallas Cup. 

He is currently the Director of the Future Champ Junior Program and works with all skill levels of men, women and juniors.

Nathan Byrnes

Nathan Byrnes joined the Canyon Creek staff in January, 2016, and is one in a long line of former Aussies on our staff. He comes from a tennis family in Melbourne where he played and worked with his father and brother in tennis programs there. Nathan graduated St.Kevin’s College in Toorak, Australia, and Oklahoma State University where he received a BAS in Economics in 2010.

While at OSU he was a 4 year starter, led the team to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA tournament on 2 occasions, was Team Captain in 2009, made the individual tournament 3 times, was top 10 in NCAA doubles and qualified for NCAA team tournament 4 years, and went on to earn ATP points in both singles and doubles!

Before joining our staff, Nathan was on staff at South Lake Tennis Center where he worked with adults and juniors. He is Quick Start qualified, started their College Prep Program, developed their 10 and Under curriculum and program, and assisted with their organization of tournaments. Nathan is a USPTR certified Professional.
