Larry's Construction Update
We are in the homestretch for the New City Club Los Angeles! I tour the Club at least three times a day, trying to expedite construction any way I can. Because I see it so often, many times I am not aware how awesome this is going to be as I am so focused on the work which has yet to be completed. The days when I take a Member for a walk through, are the moments that I begin to appreciate all that has been accomplished.
The magnificent height of the ceilings, the complexity of the Aperture Lounge, the detail of the Arbor Dining room, the fabulous programming we have in store to compliment this one of a kind "City Club Los Angeles" are all details I get excited about. I know all the General Managers in ClubCorp cannot wait for the finished Club and once again hear the innovative and creative ideas that come from the City Club. We will continue to raise the bar for all to perform.
The Gateway rooms are spectacular. These have muted glass fronts with sliding glass doors and a divine view of the city to the ocean. The Tom Bradley board room is going to change the way you hold your executive meetings. Some serious business will take place in that room which oozes power. I am thrilled with the ballroom and the overall feel of the room and its warmth. It is big but yet it has charm and comfort that will lend itself to meld into your business or social plans.
Taking Members on tours gives me great pride. I hear "WOW!" a lot. It will feel like Christmas has come early this year, as you will be very proud of your new Club and its design. When designing, we took into consideration all the ways you do business today. We actually hired a company to follow Members, non-Members and former Members for a couple of days to see exactly how people spend their days professionally and socially. You must admit the way we do business and interact socially today is far different from the way it was when City Club was established 25 years ago. The new design is geared help you save money and save time; we all need more time.
Please feel free to call me or any of the staff to if you would like to take a tour as we are near completion. I will announce ASAP the precise date of opening but wouldlike to see all of you at the Charity Grand Opening November 23. Please call Nelly for reservations. All entry fees are tax deductible as it all goes to Charity.
