Hike details: Black Rock Mountain State Park, James E. Edmonds Backcountry Trail, 7.2 mile loop, rated moderate to strenuous, 3 to 3-1/2 hours. Black Rock Mtn is a two hour drive from Atlanta, just north of Clayton.

Lunch: Options for lunch afterwards are Dillard House Restaurant, which serves big southern-country-style meals family style (only 4 miles north of Black Rock Mtn) or lunch at The Red Barn Cafe at Tiger Mountain Vineyards, about 6 or 8 miles south of Black Rock Mtn. Please notify us by June 29th if you plan to attend the lunch so we can make the reservations.
