United Way - YPL Reception[ X ]
The YPL Board invites you to a Service Social sponsored by The Commerce Club Young Executives. Come enjoy the exquisite amenities of The Commerce Club and network with philanthropic-minded young leaders.
At this event we will highlight the importance of "board service." The brief program will feature The United Way Volunteerism Involvement Program (VIP). United Way of Greater Atlanta started VIP in 1992 in order to identify, recruit and place diverse leaders from greater Atlanta into policy making roles to enhance the effectiveness of nonprofit agencies in our community. Since its inception, more than 1,800 graduates have provided service to more than 350 nonprofit governance boards and committees throughout greater Atlanta. United Way’s VIP is a 10-week, 40-hour training program offered in spring, summer and fall. It is designed to develop and enhance leadership skills, increase diverse volunteer participation in nonprofit board and leadership positions, in the greater Atlanta communities. VIP gives participants the tools to serve as effective board members of local nonprofit agencies. Workshops include fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, and financial and legal decision making.
Additionally, incoming YPL Board Co-Chairs PJ Zonsius & Quinn Green will announce newly selected members of the 2014-2015 YPL Board!
