Coto de Caza South course has a rating of 74.3 and a slope of 140. The South course not only has a great layout, but is also fun to play. The player feels solitary; only a handful of holes allow the opportunity to see other golfers. The South course is shorter than the North course, but is also a lot tighter, so accuracy off the tee is essential. The greens are receptive and are mostly flat with only subtle breaks. Always take into consideration the push from the Santiago Peak, which will effect putts that will exaggerate breaks, based on the location of the Peak.
