Jay Carballo is the General Manager at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. He is no stranger to golf as he has been in the golf and country club business for over 19 years.  Most recently Jay was the General Manger at Sea Cliff Country Cub and has worked with American Golf for more than 15 years.  He has been a Regional Director with American Golf for Southern California for 12 golf courses, Regional Manager for five Long Beach City Golf Courses as well as the General Manager for El Dorado Park Golf Course.

Although Jay has been in the golf business for quite awhile he was a late bloomer in the sport playing his first round during his senior year at St. Francis High School. He was hooked after one round and continued to play with his father at DeBell Golf Club in Burbank every Saturday morning until he went to college. Jay attended Glendale College for a couple of years followed by Long Beach State.  In college, he played on both the football team and baseball team, but is most proud of being the shortstop on the original Dirtbag team which played in the College World Series in 1989. This unique experience led him to another once in a life time opportunity, being drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1990.

A native New Yorker, Jay and his wife Heidi have two daughters; Katelyn and Hallie.
