Stefan was born and raised outside of Albany, NY and 2011 marked his 20th anniversary in golf course management. He attended Clemson University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture. In addition, he continued his education with an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Golf Course Operations from State University of New York.

He began his career as an intern at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links. During that time, Stefan was instrumental in the preparations for the 1999 US Amateur & 2000 US Open events.  He then received an opportunity to join the prestigious team at Oakland Hills where he ultimately worked his way up to becoming the South Course Head Superintendent. 

For the five years prior to coming to Diamond Run Stefan has been the Superintendent at Blowing Rock Country Club, a 1915 Seth Raynor designed course in the mountains of North Carolina. 

When not at work he and his wife Anji are either golfing or playing with their dog, Maggie.
