Darcee Gomez

Role: Fitness Director
Serving Since: 2017

Darcee Gilbert-Gomez lives in Fair Oaks Ranch, with her husband Will, their 7-year-old son, Cody and dog Cash. They moved to San Antonio from Denver in August of 2015 and have settled quite nicely into the community.

Darcee has been an athlete almost all her life. In high school she played varsity basketball and volleyball and ran on the track and cross-country teams. She held the Class A State Record in the 2 mile for 25 years. She ran competitively for 5 years at Montana State University on a Track and Cross Country scholarship, where her team placed 15th at NCAA’s in 1995. Darcee’s cross country team was inducted into the Hall of Fame at her alma mater in 2008. Darcee has competed in several road races and a few marathons after college but these days she enjoys running casually with her lovable canine running buddy, Cash and tries to end as many runs as she can with some yoga!

Darcee discovered yoga roughly 15 years ago at a gym but it wasn’t something she practiced regularly. She began her yoga teaching journey in October of 2005, when she attended RYT 200 Teacher Training at Corepower Yoga in Denver, CO, but never ended up teaching. When the opportunity to work at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club became available, she jumped at the chance to finally use her teaching skills and share her love of yoga with her community. Darcee’s classes are dynamic, energetic, compassionate, humorous and fun. She has managed to cultivate a devoted following of students in her classes! In addition to teaching yoga, Darcee also teaches spinning and AOA.

Working with varied age groups and skill levels has been a tremendous learning opportunity for Darcee. She is extremely dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe environment for students to support inward focus and exploration of the body, mind and spirit. Darcee was thrilled to accept the Athletics Manager position in June of 2017 and is looking forward to helping the fitness center thrive!
