High Performance Program
The goals of the "High Performance Program" (HPP) is to develop a higher level of commitment and increase the number of players in the program, which will improve the overall learning and competitive experience. We want our players to play more tournaments, play on school teams, and have more fun. Ultimately, we want our players to play tennis for the rest of their lives.
Brian Tennery, Hackberry Creek Director of Tennis, also directs the HPP. Brian is a "Professional" member of the Professional Tennis Registry, a National Clinician & Tester for the PTR, and was the PTR 2011 Texas State Member of the Year.
How Does a Player qualify for the Program? Being "old enough" is not a determining factor, and ultimately it’s the decision of the professional staff as to whether or not a player is appropriate for the HPP. The following are examples of criteria that players in the program should be able to meet:
- Plays on his or her middle school or high school team.
- Plays local tournaments.
- Tennis has become his or her primary sports focus.
- Is capable of winning points with consistency AND power.
