Leigh Wilkes, a native of the Isle of Palms, lives in Mount Pleasant with her son. Graduated from Wando High School, she attended Columbia College and majored in communications with minors in business administration and theater. After graduating from Columbia College, Leigh moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked in Senator Strom Thurmond’s (R-S.C) Press Office. Back in South Carolina, Leigh returned to her alma mater as an admissions counselor for the Women’s College. After three years in Columbia, Leigh moved to Greenville, SC where she was membership director for the Commerce Club before moving to Tokyo, Japan.

In Japan, Leigh attended the Ohararyu Ikebana School and taught English for Berlitz International Language School. After leaving Japan, Leigh returned to Greenville and was hired by a D.C.-based trade association, The Society of the Plastics Industry, as the sales and marketing manager for 22 states as well as Canada and Mexico. Since 2005, she has enjoyed being the Harbour Club’s membership director.
