Tennis Tots is a specially designed program for special players – children between the ages of 4 and 7. This program concentrates on developing hand-eye coordination, ball judgment and racket control using equipment scaled down to the child’s size.
The goal of Mighty Mites programs is to introduce 8 to 12-year-old students, the basic strokes necessary to play full court tennis. Mighty Mites will learn how to serve and rally from the baseline, along with an understanding of keeping score.
This class is designed for Varsity and Junior Varsity level players. Juniors will work on ground strokes, volleys, specialty shots and footwork through advanced drills, match play and conditioning to complete their game of tennis. Players in this class will be expected to play ZAT tournaments, along with local competitions.
Summer Tennis & Swim Camp
Campers will receive tennis instruction and organized on-court games, have supervised “free swim” time, a Hollytree hot meal and then enjoy organized games and activities on the tennis court. The campers are divided on the first camp morning into classes based on age and skill level. Campers' ages typically range from 4-1/2 to 16.
High Intensity Tennis (H.I.T.) & Junior H.I.T.
H.I.T. works to help each player prepare mentally and physically for competition as well as helping them attain their own personal goals. The key element in the success for each player and the program will be the intense training arena created. We will strive to challenge players mentally and physically and push them to compete at a higher level day in and day out. Stroke development, strategy, fitness and mental toughness will be stressed during the program. Hollytree's clay courts and video technology will also be used to maximize each individual's full potential.
H.I.T. registration is limited to champ and super champ qualifed juniors and others by invitation. Junior HIT is limited to those juniors maintaining a minimum of 32 ZAT points
This on-going yearly program is designed for tournament-level juniors who have the desire and determination to take their games to the next level. This program emphasizes stroke production and strategy for singles and doubles match play. Juniors in this program will be expected to schedule practice matches on their own time and participate in local junior tournaments.
