Opened in 1989, the $4 million, 35,000-square-foot clubhouse was designed by noted architect, Richard Diedrich, who is responsible for the famed Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando and the Country Club of the South in Atlanta. From its inviting, warm brick exterior to an elegant entry, grand lobby and cathedral ceilings, the clubhouse is the plush center of social activity at the Club. First-class dining facilities, a cocktail lounge and private banquet and conference rooms make it the perfect place to entertain friends, family and business associates.
The crown jewel of the Club is its Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course. Fazio fashioned an unparalleled 18-hole, 6,900-yard course with a strong emphasis on environmental integrity. With its impressive rolling Bermuda grass fairways, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, impeccable greens and multiple teeing areas, the course is designed for the enjoyment of golfers of any skill level.
Central to the club's tennis, athletic and swimming activities is the Sports Center. Situated on a sparkling lake, its facilities include a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, group exercise and indoor cycling studios, 17 lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, a basketball court, two 4-wall racquetball courts, a sand volleyball court, a heated junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a children's playroom, a youth activities building, men's and ladies' locker rooms and a fully-stocked Pro Shop with complete club services. After a strenuous workout or a game of tennis, Members can enjoy a meal in the Cafe, which offers casual dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
Hunter's Green is the first major community in Florida to be designated a Florida Quality Development for its adherence to strict environmental and planning guidelines and has become a prototype for residential communities around the country. The community won numerous national and local awards, including the Aurora Award for the Top Master-Planned Community in the Southeast and the ENVY Environmental Award from the Florida Association of Realtors for the residential development that most celebrates Florida's natural quality of life.
