Jason W. Brown is a native of Topeka, Kansas, where he first picked up a racquet at age 7. He had a very successful high school career while playing for Topeka High School. In his last two years, Jason placed second in the state tournament and won the team title his senior year.
Jason graduated from Emporia State University with a B.S. in psychology and minor in physical education. While attending ESU, he played #1 singles and #1 doubles. He later received his secondary education certification from Washburn University.
Jason has been teaching and coaching tennis for 15 years. Before moving to Texas, Jason was the head women’s coach at Topeka High School. While coaching at Topeka, the women’s team won back to back regional titles, which were the first ever in the history of the women’s tennis program.
Jason has been the head tennis teaching professional at Richland Tennis Center as well as a tennis teaching professional at Colonial Country Club and Hurst Tennis Center. He has worked with junior and adult players of all levels and coached several teams to local and state playoffs. Jason also played on a team that qualified for 5.0 nationals.
Jason and his family have won the Heart of America District Family of the Year Award twice, the second as recent as 2011. They also won the Missouri Valley USTA Section Family of the Year Award in 2011.
Jason is excited and honored to be part of the Las Colinas Country Club tennis staff.
