Magnolia Creek Golf Club
Magnolia Creek Golf Club offers a 27-hole links-style course that invites golfers to step back in time and experience rolling hills, deep, entrenched bunkers and native grasses similar to the likes of legendary courses. The three distinctive nine-hole courses combine the best nostalgic style of the British Isles they are named for – England, Scotland and Ireland – with modern-day conditioning. With spacious fairways, numerous pot bunkers and a world-class, 22-acre practice facility, Magnolia Creek a true golf experience. Course designer Thomas Clark created more than 100 courses the U.S. and abroad and is known for designing from ‘plans to play.’
South Shore Harbour Country Club
South Shore Harbour’s golf course is 27-hole private course nestled on the picturesque banks of Galveston Bay. The course consists of three distinct nines – the South, Shore and Harbour nines – each playing to a par 36. This trio allows for three varying 18-hole combinations, with the South-Shore configuration known to be the toughest at 73.0 rating and 128 slope. The course was originally designed by Dave Marr and Jay Riviere and was renovated and augmented by Jeffery Blume in the late 1990s. Once known as a links layout void of trees, with plenty of sand and a relatively flat track, the course has evolved into a more traditional course with rolling hills, water hazards and nature’s contribution of a steady wind off the bay.
