Jeff Schauer

Jeff came to the Nicklaus Golf Club with a wealth of experience and expertise in the golf industry with significant hotel and food and beverage experience. Jeff is a graduate of Bismarck State College in Bismarck, ND. Throughout his career, Jeff has been very successful in building high quality teams that have supported a positive Club experience for its Members. He has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to have a positive relationship and partnership with his team and the Members that they serve. Jeff has been with the ClubCorp family since 2007 and with the Nicklaus Golf Club for 5 years. Jeff currently lives in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife Deb and two daughters Erin and Sarah.

Josh Hartman

Josh Hartman has worked in the food and beverage industry for 16 years and he has been apart of the Nicklaus Golf Club family since 2013. He is currently taking classes to receive a degree in Accounting. Josh was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He currently resides in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife Amanda and son Wyatt.

Fayette Jones

Fayette has worked for the Nicklaus Golf Club since it opened in September of 2001 and is looking forward to celebrating the Club's 15th anniversary this year. Her first position was the front desk admin assistant, then on to merchandising in the Pro Shop and landing in the accounting office in 2005. Having worked in the various positions has enabled Fayette to assist wherever needed when not crunching numbers in the office. Aside from her everyday duties, during the summer she supports the swim team on behalf of the Club. The NGC Dolphins is run exclusively by the parents, as the Club liaison, Fayette helps to facilitate communication, organization, swim meets and offers general support for the swim team parents. Fayette is from Lexington, Kentucky (yes, a big UK fan!) and moved to Overland Park in 2001 after marrying Dave. They are the proud parents of Katie (13) and Nicholas (10), both whom are active in soccer, basketball and swimming. Needless to say, when not working, most of their time is spent at practices and games for the kids!

Anthony Alioto

After graduating from William Chrisman High School in 2005, he attended college at Blue River for 3 years. While in college, he launched his career in the food industry as a chef for a small catering company based out of Kansas City. After a year of being a chef, Anthony took part in helping the company's catering business grow at a rapid pace and eventually moved into the Catering Manager/Events Manager position, where he worked closely with clients to create unique and memorable events. During his time at the catering company, he developed the ability of culinary art which has turned into elaborate fruit displays and watermelon carvings. Anthony has a strong passion for food, and enjoys working with people. Anthony and his wife Jasmine have 3 boys; Cameron, Braydon and Adrian. He is a member of his local church, Grace Fellowship and enjoys spending time with his family at local sporting events.

Jason LeFevre

Role: Executive Chef

Jason started his culinary career at the age of eighteen when he joined the United States Navy. After graduating first of his class in his naval culinary school, he received orders to become the personal chef for the Commander of the Sixth Fleet stationed in Gaeta, Italy. For the next five years he extensively traveled all over Europe and Africa preparing all styles of cuisine for the Commander and his guests while studying under several European chefs, and attending multiple culinary schools. During this time Jason met and prepared meals for multiple heads of state, celebrities, ambassadors and past US presidents. Jason also had the opportunity to work with the personal chef for President Ford on a nine day French and Italian Riviera cruise on his private yacht. After leaving Europe Jason had the opportunity to go to naval aircrew and flight school and eventually become the personal flight chef for the Secretary of the Navy.  Jason continued studying under well-known chefs is his travels all over the world with the Secretary, Congressman, Senators and other high ranking military leaders. In 2002 after eight years in the military Jason decided to resign his position and pursue his culinary career in the civilian world. After moving to Kansas City he attained another culinary degree at Johnson County Community College. He is an avid supporter of JCCC and has had numerous apprentices’ train and graduate underneath his instruction. Since then he has run multiple restaurants in the Kansas City area, including Union Station, Garmin International world headquarters and the Carriage club. He has been the current Executive Chef for The Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate since November 2010. He currently resides in Kansas City, Kansas with his daughter Cessilli.

JD Brake

JD Brake begins his 7th season as Head Golf Professional of the Nicklaus GC.  A Class “A” Professional since 1992, JD originally hails from Beatrice, NE.  He believes that keeping the game simple through proper fundamentals and using plain talk that is easy to understand are secrets to his teaching success. He has worked with all levels players from the most raw beginner to players on the Tour and has the experience to make the game enjoyable for everyone.  JD has been married to his wife Alison for 25 years and has two children, Jeffrey age 23 and Abbey age 20.

Jeff Kurdziel

Jeff Kurdziel enters his 7th season at Nicklaus GC and his 17th year in the golf industry.  He has been teaching for eleven years and has had the pleasure from learning from some of midwest Kansas’ best teachers including former PGA tour player and current KSU head coach, Tim Norris.  Jeff grew up in Topeka, KS and upon graduating from Kansas State worked at Colbert Hills in Manhattan, KS for four years as a first assistant.  For the next two seasons, he was the General Manager and Class B Head Golf Professional at Wamego Country Club.  Jeff approaches each student’s swing individually and focuses on both the physical and mental part of the golf game. He has taught players of all levels from beginners and children to scratch golfers and collegiate players.  Jeff has been married to wife Leanne for just over 1 year.

Robert Russell

Role: Assistant Golf Professional

Robert Russell starts his first season at Nicklaus GC and comes to us from Shamrock Hills GC where he was the Apprentice Head Golf Professional. He is currently in the PGM Program working towards his Class A status. Robert attended the Kansas City Kansas Community College where he won the National Jr. College Championship.  He then went on to the UMKC where he was a 2-time All-American.  He played professionally for 10 years played in the 1999 U.S. Open. As a member of the Midwest Section PGA, Robert was the leading money-earner in 2015.  At Nicklaus GC Robert will be directly involved in all aspects of the golf operations and we are thrilled to have him on our team.  He resides in Overland Park and has been married for 13 years to his wife Tara.  They have two children, Lauren age 10 and Rhett age 5.

Skyler Arbuckle

Role: Assistant Golf Professional

Skyler will be in his first year at the Nicklaus GC working as an Assistant Golf Professional. He previously worked at Fred Arbanas Golf Course (Longview) for 7 seasons. This past summer he graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a degree in marketing, management, and human resource. Skyler looks to continue his education, and is starting the PGA’s PGM Program.  Hailing from Lee’s Summit Skyler is looking forward to the opportunity to work with all ages and levels of golfers. He was a three-sport athlete growing up before switching to golf full-time. He played golf in high school and while in college at Central Missouri and Missouri Southern. This season Skyler will be involved in: Junior Golf Programming, PeeWee Golf, Couples Golf, Lady Bug, as well as other golf related operations.

Gary Sailer

Gary Sailer has been the Golf Course Superintendent at Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate for the past 6 years. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a turfgrass degree in Agronomy. Gary has been a golf course superintendent for a total of 22 years. During that time he has worked at Alvamar, Eagles Landing, Sycamore Ridge and Stone Canyon golf club. Gary and his wife Jill are the proud parents of Jack (17), Mitch (15), and Gretta (12) and he looks forward to welcoming you to Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate.

Kortney Smithwick

Kortney has been working in Membership Services for the past 5 years. Previously she worked at Life Time Fitness in Overland Park and Prairie Life Fitness in Olathe, where she was given the opportunity to plan and coordinate most if not all the club events and activities. With a background in event design and visual marketing, Kortney looks forward to bringing her passion for customer service and event management to Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri she currently resides here in Overland Park with her love able, but always hungry cat, Holly Golightly.
