|Role:||Golf Course Superintendent|
I am the Golf Course Superintendent at Northwood Country Club. I have held this position since September of 1982. I have been employed at Northwood since June of 1972 and began my career with ClubCorp in 1979. Northwood has a long history in my family’s life. Before the golf course was constructed, the property was a 750-acre farm that my Uncle owned and my Grandfather was also involved with. In 1959, the property was sold and the construction of Northwood County Club was begun. In 1964, my Uncle reacquired the property and my Father came to work as Superintendent at Northwood, which was then a 9 hole golf course. My father built the back nine in 1965 and remained, as Superintendent until 1982 and then became General Manager until 2000. Northwood has been and continues to be a very special place to my family and myself.
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia and have been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent since 1995. In 2003, I was honored to be named Georgia Golf Course Superintendent of the year. In my spare time, I collect and restore Antique tractors.
