CMT SAN JOSE BENEFITS FROM SILICON VALLEY CAPITAL CLUB CHARITY GALA - ACTRESS ANNETTE BENING SERVES AS HONORARY EVENT CHAIR

Children’s Musical Theater San Jose announced Tuesday its selection as the beneficiary of the Silicon Valley Capital Club Charity Gala. The annual black-tie affair takes place October 13 at the Capital Club atop the Knight Ridder tower in downtown San Jose. The members-only club chose CMT as this year’s public benefit corporation of choice the same year the theater organization celebrates its 45
th anniversary as San Jose’s longest thriving performing arts organization. CMT managing director Michael Miller says "We are honored to have been chosen and recognized for our high quality work onstage, as well as in the community."

An advocate of youth and young adult arts education and training, Hollywood legend Annette Bening will serve as honorary chair of the prestigious event. Ms. Bening’s ties to the San Jose community are through family; namely her brother Brad, a prominent Silicon Valley attorney and niece Ashley, a respected Bay Area actress. The star-studded gala will also serve as a reunion for many CMT alumni. A four course dinner with wine pairings will be created in the ballroom by the Capital Club’s Michelin Star rated executive chef, and priceless items will go to the winning guests as live auctioneer Gary Scott Thomas from the KRTY radio station morning show calls the bidding.

Capital Club board of governors chair Helen Marchese Owen says "The club is so proud to have the opportunity to support CMT this year. Our members are excited to be part of the special anniversary year of this incredible theater company." Key sponsorship opportunities still exist with all tax deductable gifts directly benefiting CMT San Jose’s programs including its musical productions, summer camp and community outreach.
