Growing up in England I had access to play many sports at a competitive level including field hockey, cricket and golf since the age of 3.  I moved to the USA to start my Career as an Assistant Golf Professional with the Clubs at Key West. I now have over 20 plus years in the golf industry and have enjoyed a variety of experiences in the private and semi private club sector as a Cart Attendant, Chef, Accountant, and General Manager.  I believe,“We do what needs to be done to be successful.” Moving to the USA has brought many wonderful adventures.  I also met my lovely wife Kathy, a Michigan native. We have been enjoying each other’s company for over 17 years and together rescued Roscoe our dog 12 years ago. If I'm not at work you'll find me enjoying restaurants, playing golf or deep sea fishing.

Robert Lyberopoulos

Bob Lyberopoulos joined TPC Piper Glen in November 2011 after having 20+ years of experience in the Fitness, Tennis and Spa Industry. Before joining TPC Piper Glen, Bob lived in Scottsdale, AZ and did consulting work for mid-cap companies focusing of finance, operations and business development. Prior to this role, Bob was the Managing Director/Part-Owner of several businesses in Northern Jersey in the health and recreation business. Here, Bob was responsible for overseeing the company’s financials, day-to-day operations and business development of each six operating businesses. Since arriving at TPC Piper Glen, Bob has been very instrumental in growing the Club’s membership roster and building relationships with its members. Bob is an avid golfer, tennis player and athlete, and a graduate of Boston College. 

Allison Doane

Allison Doane was born and raised near Minneapolis where she attended grade school and high school. Being from Minnesota, Allison embraced the season changes. Her father had her skiing by the young age of 3! She played many sports including varsity soccer, basketball and track & field. She attended the University of San Diego where she graduated with her degree in Business Administration, a Marketing emphasis and Spanish minor. She played soccer at the division 1 level, was a proud Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority member and also the Panhellenic Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Service where she oversaw the service projects for the Greek chapters.

Post-college, Allison worked for ServiceNow, a platform-as-a-service cloud computing company in Solana Beach, CA. She then went on to work a rewarding career at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and moved to Charlotte, NC for a field position in 2010. As a Senior Development Representative, she created new partnerships and grew fundraising events for St. Jude such as the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, numerous ‘Country Cares for St. Jude Kids’ radiothons, collegiate fundraising programs such as St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn, and the Warrior Dash just to name a few. Most recently, Allison has worked for the American Cancer Society as a Senior Development Manager for Distinguished Events. In her position there, she worked on the largest fundraising gala in the Carolinas, the Charlotte Cattle Baron’s Ball - a cowboy chic affair hosted at Bruton Smith’s stables in Midland, NC.

Allison and her husband, Shea, reside in Fort Mill, SC. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, playing with her puppy, interior decorating, event and party planning, wine tasting, downhill skiing, hiking and running. She is currently training for her fourth half marathon at Walt Disney World in February! Allison said, “I am really delighted to join this growing team here at TPC Piper Glen. While working at one of the most prestigious private clubs in North Carolina, I am able to fulfill my passion for creating and directing events while advancing my career. It’s a fantastic opportunity that I just couldn’t pass up!”

Deidra Arthur

Deidra was born and raised just outside the city of Philadelphia, PA; and yes this means she’s a diehard Eagles fan! When it came time for her to attend college, her Dad gave her a southern limit of North Carolina, and that is how she ended up attending Johnson & Wales University here in Charlotte. Deidra’s degree is in Hotel and Lodging Management with a concentration in Weddings and Events. After she did an internship at a hotel she decided she didn’t want to make a career out of it. Luckily a friend introduced her to Private Clubs and thus began her career in the industry. Deidra said the reasoning behind this was: “I love getting to know members and building relationships with them.”

Steffie Safrit

Steffie is a North Carolina native and stared his career in the golf industry by graduating from North Carolina State University with degrees in Turfgrass Management and Landscape Design and Management. Most of his golf course career has consisted of courses in the state of North Carolina at Old North State Golf Club, Governors Club, Forest Creek Golf Club and MacGregor Downs Country Cub.  Steffie joined the ClubCorp family in 2010 at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee and moved back home to TPC Piper Glen in 2014. Steffie is joined by his wife, Summer and 2 daughters Mia and Elaina.

Annie Cuppett

Annie and her husband, Andy, recently got married in September and reside in Waxhaw, NC where they bought a house in 2015.  Annie and Andy are big Ohio State fans and (unfortunately) Cleveland Brown fans. In her spare time, Annie likes to watch football, hang out with her family, and take road trips with her husband and pup. Annie is going to be an aunt at the end of this year and couldn’t be more excited to spoil her nephew.

Originally from Ohio, Annie moved to Charlotte in 2010 to finish her degree at Johnson & Wales University in Sports, Entertainment and Event Management.  She started her career in the country club atmosphere back in 2008 and knew that the private club industry is where she wanted to be. Since then, she has been at a few different clubs in the area and is joining us from Pine Island Country Club. While at Pine Island, Annie started as the Clubhouse Manager and then became the Membership Director.  Annie said, “I love the membership side of the club industry. I love planning and executing events that people enjoy and seeing them happy.”  Annie is very excited to be here and join the TPC Piper Glen family and can’t wait to get to know all the members and do anything and everything she can to help!

Josh Stone

Josh Stone has been with us as the Director of tennis going on three years now.  He was the head professional at Carmel Country Club before coming back to TPC Piper Glen.  He has grown up playing tennis where his dad got him into it at an early age.  He went on and played high school and Division I college tennis at Liberty University.  He has always had a love for teaching the game to kids and adults.  He is very excited about the direction of the program and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the tennis program here at TPC Piper Glen.  

Julie Buffkin

At a young age I knew that I was highly interested in the education of children. Soon after I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood and Elementary I began working with children. I worked in a classroom setting, children’s recreational programs, and children’s church programs and as a licensed Foster Parent for the State of North Carolina.  

My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, tapping into talents, and sharing my love for learning with my students. I believe we all have something to contribute and I learn so much from my students each day. I have used a multi-sensory, theme based instruction in the classroom and children’s recreation programs, and I fully believe in a consistent, positive and respectful approach to making lasting, meaningful behavior positive changes.

Through the years I held the position as Family Service Director with Siskey Family YMCA for over twelve years. Offering hands on program development for Day Camp, After School, Pre – School, Child Watch and the Indian Guide Programs throughout the Charlotte Metro area. 

My classroom teaching experience began in Onslow County North Carolina as a Pre – K Teacher, then onto Union and Mecklenburg County teaching special need classes for over seventeen years. My most recent position of over six years has been here at TPC Piper where I totally enjoy and love very much. I have worked in the Food and Beverage department, with children’s programs, and many more duties around the club.

TJ Baggett

TJ Baggett, a PGA Life Member, brings an extensive background to TPC Piper Glen from golf properties spanning six US states, The Bahamas, and Russia.  Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, his golf career began at Brandermill Country Club where he progressed from the First Assistant to Head Golf Professional.  TJ became sought after as an instructor especially to junior golfers where he helped develop several collegiates and one PGA Tour player. 

Following a two year journey as a professional golfer, TJ returned to operations at Troon North Golf Club, Scottsdale, Arizona.  Troon, recognizing strong leadership qualities, quickly promoted and tasked him with opening several new properties including at Eagle Glen Golf Club, Corona, California, TJ, then began an eight-year stint in The Bahamas as both the Director of Golf and General Manager at the award-winning Ocean Club Golf Course, the anchor amenity of the one & only Atlantis Resort.  His experience while at Ocean Club included hosting the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational for seven years and the Father / Son Challenge for three years, both televised on NBC and ESPN.  The following years included new property openings at Don Golf & Country Club, Stanitsa, Russia, Payne Stewart Golf Club, Branson, Missouri and TPC Baha Mar, Nassau, The Bahamas.  Prior to returning to the Bahamas TJ spent four years as Director of Golf at the Top 100 Prince Course, Princeville, Hawaii.  Baggett spent the past year as Director of Golf Sales at PGA National Spa & Resort, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, overseeing golf sales and event operations. 

TJ is very excited to serve the membership of TPC Piper Glen as the PGA Head Golf Professional and will call Charlotte home with his wife, Erin Baggett.

Denise Calia

Denise is the Office Manager, where she ensures that daily operations run smoothly. Since she joined the club in 2011, she maintains account payable, accounts receivable, monthly billing, and human resources. Formerly, Denise was the Office Manager with a Mechanical company in New Jersey.

Denise has been a resident of Indian Trail since she moved to North Carolina from New Jersey in 2007. She is married to her husband, Joe, and has two children, Freddy and Tricia; her fur babies, Jasper and Honey; and the light of her life, Granddaughter Maisy Grace. She also enjoys spending time with her family, going to sporting events, and quality beach time!
