Falcon Point Pirates Swim Team

Our team welcomes both Members and non-members. Our team has grown in size over the past 3 years and after an undefeated season last year we have moved up yet again to division 3! Our main purpose is to give children an opportunity to participate in organized swimming with the primary emphasis on individual improvement, achievement and FUN! Parents play an active part in our team and volunteer duty is a MUST for all parents. All swim meets are held in the month of June with the season concluding prior to the July 4 holiday to allow for family vacation schedules.

Our Swim Team is open to swimmers ages 5* to 18 years of age. All swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted. Some may need to take private, group or swim team prep classes to prepare them for the team. All swimmers are required to participate in Swim Team Evaluation on either Monday April 29th or Tuesday April 30th. Evaluations will be held from 4pm-7pm each day with first come, first served. (We expect evaluations to take no longer than ½ hour but this depends on how many swimmers show up at what time!) *the size of our 6 and under group may be limited. Registration will be monitored and registrants will be contacted/updated as needed.

Our coaching staff will handle the skill assessment of our newest swimmers and we will be setting a base time for all swimmers. Please note: this will be used for both practice assignments as well as tracking personal improvement. Speed is not important! If your new swimmer is unable to qualify for swim team your registration fees will be credited towards your choice of private or group lessons. 

Swim Team practice will be held Monday-Friday in the afternoon/evening with our first practice scheduled for May 1. Unlike most teams we keep the same practice schedule after school ends except we do not practice on Fridays in June. No early morning trips to the pool for swim practice! Attendance at all practices is not mandatory, but we recommend that you attend as often as possible. Our new pavilion will be staffed and available at most practices for food and beverage needs. 

2013 Practice Times:
Group A: 3:30pm- 4:30pm (11 & up)
Group B: 4:30pm- 5:00pm (6 & under)
Group C: 5:00pm – 5:45pm (7-10a)
Group D: 5:45pm – 6:30pm (7-10b)

Team Fees:
Registration fee: $5 per swimmer
Member: $95*Nonmember: $115*
Third Family Member: $15 discount
Team Shirts: $15 (all swimmers receive 1 shirt)

*This price includes the swimmer’s registration fee, team T-shirt, trophy and awards party but does not include the cost of swimsuits, goggles or other needed supplies. These items will be available for purchase at practices in May.
