Crystal's event planning career started in 1989 at the South Carolina Yacht Club on Hilton Head Island. After six years at the club, she joined a restaurant management company, the Lowrey Group. She held various positions within the Lowrey Group including director of marketing and manager of the Old Fort Pub before spearheading the development of their Special Events division, Celebration Events, which was responsible for all event planning for Old Fort Pub, Boathouse II, CQ's and Antonio's Restaurants. Crystal met her husband David at the Lowrey Group and were married in 1997.

In 2003, the Moorhouses relocated to Greenville, and then in 2008 to St. John in the US Virgin Islands before coming back to the Upstate in 2009. Crystal started with the Commerce Club in January 2010. She recently received a 2010 Rising Star Award from Clubcorp.

Crystal and her husband David live in Moore with their three daughters and their happy yellow Lab, Jake.
