Before joining The Hills of Lakeway, James served as Vice President and Managing Director for Barton Creek Resort and Clubs Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of running both the club and the resort. During his twenty seven-plus years at Barton Creek, he worked with five different ownership and management entities, including ClubCorp. In his past role, James was very involved with all aspects of the operation including golf, fitness, tennis, membership and dining.
James is passionate about providing an exceptional private club Member experience, and places immense focus on listening to and learning from Members. He also strives to maintain a positive working environment for Employee Partners, and assists them in reaching their full potential at the Club.
James believes strongly in community involvement and currently serves on the Board of the Make-a-Wish Foundation for the Central and South Texas region. Under his leadership at Barton Creek, the resort raised more than $100,000 for this great organization.
James is a graduate of the College of Hotel Management in Shannon, Ireland and has lived in Austin since 1987. He enjoys working out and exploring the local Austin restaurant scene, and is an avid traveler and wine collector.
Keith Rader has joined us as our Club Manager and Head Golf Professional at Lakeway Country Club. Keith comes to us from a private club in West Virginia where he was the General Manager and Head Golf Professional for the last 12 years. He is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at New Mexico State University and has been a class A PGA Professional for over 20 years. Keith is married to his wife Karen and they have 3 boys - Kyle and twins Kameron and Karson. In his spare time he loves to spend time with his family and watch his boys play baseball.
Laurie started her career with ClubCorp 20 years ago at Barton Creek Resort and Country Club where she was very successful in a sales role with the Owners Club at Barton Creek.
During her time with ClubCorp, Laurie has also worked at Plaza Club, San Antonio, Owners Club Telluride, Tower Club Dallas and as Director of National Sales at the home office. In addition to her work with ClubCorp, Laurie has also sold memberships for the Ritz-Carlton Club in Aspen and Maui.
A native Texan, Laurie hails from San Antonio (Go Spurs Go!), graduated from Baylor University (Sic 'em Bears!) and loves to travel, spend time with family and friends and make the most of all that Austin has to offer. Laurie's office is at Flintrock Falls so please stop by soon and often to say hello.
A member relations director with ClubCorp since 2007, Casey Brown has been at The Hills of Lakeway since June of 2015. Casey's history with ClubCorp began in the summer of 2002, where she worked in the pool cabanas at Austin's Barton Creek Resort almost every summer of her college career when she was not away at The University of Florida. Casey graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Master’s degree in Management and is a true Gator fan! Following school, she joined the team at Bay Oaks Country Club as a Member Relations director and after three years, moved to the Business and Sports division at The Downtown Club, Houston (The Met, Houston Center Club and Plaza Club). After two years of enjoying downtown Houston, Casey decided to go back to the Golf & Country Club division to The Clubs of Kingwood (Kingwood Country Club & Deerwood Club). Within her ClubCorp career, Casey has received the Rising Star Award, Club 100 in 2011 & 2012 and President’s Club in 2012. Casey enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Clint, and two kids, Cooper and Camryn.
Ann graduated from Texas A&M with a B.A. in Marketing in 2002 and joined the ClubCorp Family in 2003 as a Pro Shop Assistant at The World of Tennis. She was promoted to Membership Assistant in 2008. In 2012 she became the Private Events Director at the Hills and in 2015 added regional duties as the South Texas Regional Field Specialist in Private Events where she travels around to train new PED's in the company. Her passion is helping her clients turn their wedding dreams into a reality and has coordinated over 300 weddings in her career. Ann also organizes all of the seminars, wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, luncheons, high teas, golf tournaments and member events such as holiday parties, milestone events and more held here at the Club. She has received the ClubCorp Superstar Award in 2013 & 2015, Club 100 in 2013, 2014 & 2015 and President's Club in 2014 & 2015. Ann recently moved here to the Lakeway area because she has always felt a connection to this thriving community and is excited to become more involved. She has two lovely, young daughters, Ann Elizabeth and Lillian Grace, whom willingly consume her time when she is not here at the club serving our membership.
Role: Director of Instruction Serving Since: 2010 Email Ron Miller
Ron Miller has been an instructor on and off since 1975 and was elected into the PGA in 1994. He and his wife, Carol, have worked at the Hills of Lakeway since the late 1990’s. Because of his extensive career in instruction, he has worked with professionals and beginners. Ron feels that, while working with good players is exhilarating, working with beginners is the most fun because he is responsible for teaching them how to have fun with a game they can play for a lifetime. Ron’s main desire as your Director of Instruction is to help you improve your game and enjoy your time on the course. He has received numerous awards from the PGA and US Kids Golf.

Role: Director of Operations Food & Beverage Serving Since: 2016 Email Kevin Newbolt
Kevin comes to us with more than twenty years of operations experience of private clubs, resorts and hotels. Kevin previously spent 13 years at Barton Creek Resort with a variety of roles including Food & Beverage and Operations Director where he earned the AAA Four Diamond Award for The Hill Country Dining Room. Most recently, he served as the Director of Operations for the successful opening of Hotel Granduca Austin.
