Rory, a native of Dublin - Ireland, has been with ClubCorp since 1996 and opened the Texas Tech Club in 2010. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management and business degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology and moved to the United States soon after graduating. Rory's family owned and Bed and Breakfast in Co. Wicklow, which is south of Dublin, and has been in the hospitality business since the tender age of 5!
He held positions at Pinehurst Resort - North Carolina, University of Texas Club - Austin and the Metropolitan and Mid America clubs in Chicago prior to taking over as general manager of the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia. After Philadelphia, Rory took over as General Manager of the Plaza Club in San Antonio, prior to coming to Lubbock in June of 2010 to open the Texas Tech Club.
During his tenure with Club Corp, Rory has been involved in a 6.5 Million dollar reinvention of the Metropolitan club in Chicago, while also assisting with the acquisition of the Mid America Club during his time there. It was due to this experience, that he was selected to open the Texas Tech Club. Rory has been awarded numerous individual and team awards throughout his career with the company, but, without a doubt his most significant achievement was for the Texas tech Club to win the Company's Gold Circle of Excellence after just one year of operation.
Rory resides in Lubbock with his wife and two young children. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family and like to play and watch Rugby and Soccer (or football as he would say!). Rory also coaches his son's underage soccer teams.
