Torrey Pines is a gem of a reserve with sandstone cliffs, coastal sage scrub, and one of the world’s rarest pine tree—the Torrey Pine. As we hike to the beach, we’ll see panoramic views from the cliffs and we may get to see dolphins catching the waves or a hang glider soaring above. We’ll begin adjacent to the Visitor Center and hike down the Razor Pont Trail to the Beach Trail returning back via the Broken Hill Trail.
Directions: From North Torrey Pines Rd. enter the park (there is a fee) and drive to the top, parking near the visitor center or adjacent parking lot. We’ll begin at the trailhead near the restrooms in the adjacent parking lot.
Meet at 9:00 am, hike starts at 9:15 am.
