Dress code

The University Club has a dress code enforced throughout the entire Club. The dress code is smart casual in every area except the 1909 Founders’ Room.

Apollo Room and private event spaces

Smart casual, meaning business casual: jeans/denim are appropriate. Gentlemen are required to wear closed-toed shoes and a collared shirt. No tank tops, no shorts, no tennis shoes, no flip-flops.

Media Room fan attire exception

Smart casual with the exception of game day fan attire as designated on the Club media calendar. Meaning team jerseys and relaxed dress acceptable on fan attire times for local San Diego teams.

1909 Founders’ Room

Business casual during the day, no denim. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket in the evenings for formal dining. No exceptions. Apollo Lounge is the alternative for those not prepared for dress code.
