Joe Russello, a graduate of the Golf Academy of the South, has been in the golf business for the past 18 years. He began as an assistant golf pro with a passion to teach. In the beginning he spent a lot of time instructing while in Massachusetts and continued to teach when he decided to move to Georgia. It was here when he became a Head Golf Professional and eventually promoted to General Manager. Joe has worked with several different properties within the Sequoia/ClubCorp portfolio and enjoys all of the different challenges it brings. His focus is to provide member and guest satisfaction through quality management on a daily basis. When Joe is not working he enjoys fitness workouts, golfing, exploring new restaurants with his wife and spending time with his dog, Sal.

Tiffany Allen comes to us from the Clubs of Peachtree City where she served as both Member Relations Director and Membership Manager. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sports Management from Georgia Southern University and previously worked for the Fayette Chamber of Commerce with oversight of events and membership engagement.

Michele Haase is originally from Rochester, New York. She graduated from Paul Smiths College and Niagara University with AAS and BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

After working at The Gateway Catering Company for 6 years, Michele moved to Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband. She accepted a position at Fox Den Country Club for 13 years as the Clubhouse Manager. Then the family relocated to Newnan and Michele started working for White Oak Golf Club in 2012.

Brian Houlihan

Brian went to the Art Institute in 1999 and 2000 for Culinary Arts. He got a job right after college and has been working hard ever since. He started working at White Water Creek in 2006 as the Banquet Chef, after which he moved on to an Assistant F&B Director position at Flat Creek in 2008. He then ran the Tennis Center Café from 2010 to 2015. After five successful years, Brian decided to find new challenges and became the Food and Beverage Director at Sun City Peachtree in Griffin, GA. In May 2017 he accepted the Food & Beverage Director position at Canongate 1. Brian is very happy with his decision and says it is the best move he has ever made.

Brian’s hobbies include movies and music.

Sean Renaud

Sean Renaud is originally from Cocoa Beach, Florida.  With both his grandfather and father being PGA Golf Professionals, Sean had an early start in this profession.  Sean got accepted into the Professional Golf Management College at Mississippi State University.  In 1997, he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Degree with a major in Marketing.

After graduation, Sean was the assistant golf professional at Madison Golf Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He then chose to take the Assistant Golf Professional position at Saugahatchee Country Club in Auburn, Alabama.  In the spring of 2001, Sean got his first Head Golf Professional position at Newnan Country Club.  After a successful five years at NCC, he decided to pursue a career outside of golf by capturing his real estate license and becoming a realtor. 

Needless to say, the middle to late 2000’s weren’t the best time in the housing market.  Sean became the Head Golf Professional job at Arbor Springs Golf Course in 2008.  He enjoyed his tenure at ASGC but decided to further his professional golf career at White Oak Golf Club in 2012. 

Sean currently is the Head Golf Professional at White Oak.  His hobbies include golfing, poker and grilling out with friends.  His favorite college to root for is Mississippi State and he is a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Eddy Young

Eddy Young is a native of Atlanta. Raised in the Cascade heights area just north of Canongate 1. Eddy attended Southwest Atlanta High school and graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in Criminal Justice. His first job in the golf industry was in the DeKalb County public course system first serving at Sugar Creek Golf Course and then at Mystery Valley. The first head professional job was at Riverside Golf and Country club in Macon, Georgia. After leaving Macon to return home he was the Head Professional at Hidden Hills Country club in Stone Mountain. Eddy became the golf professional at Canongate 1 in 2006 where he has proudly served for 12 years.

Steve Morgan

Steve Morgan has worked at White Oak Golf Course for the past 12 years.  He was the first assistant for four years and has held the Head Golf Course Superintendent position for the past eight years.  Before moving to the Atlanta area in 2006, he was employed at Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield California as the first assistant Golf Course Superintendent for six years.

After graduating from Bakersfield JC in 1994 with a degree in Economics, he attended Rutgers Professional Turf grass Management Program and graduated in 1996. Before getting his first assistants job, he worked at a few different golf course as a spray technician and crew foreman.

Steve is married with three children of ages 13, 15, and 16. His hobbies include working out, landscaping and enjoying all sporting events.

Johnny Merrick

Johnny Merrick grew up in Senoia, GA and graduated from The Heritage School in Newnan. After working a summer job at White Oak Golf Club in 1993 he started classes at Gwinnett College in Golf Course Management. Following graduation, Johnny was hired as an Assistant Superintendent at White Water Creek for two years and then returned to White Oak as an Assistant to hone skills needed to become a Superintendent. Three years later, Jeff Burton hired Johnny to be the Head Superintendent at Heron Bay Golf Club in Locust Grove, GA in 2004. After four years at Heron Bay, Johnny moved to Sun City Peachtree in Griffin, GA and hardly had time to unpack when the job at Canongate 1 was available in October of 2009. Wanting to return to the area and work at a 36-hole golf course he returned and has made Canongate his home. Since accepting the new position Johnny has gotten married and has two young boys. Connor and Jack enjoy coming to work with Daddy. They especially like riding some of the equipment around the golf course and visiting with the staff. Johnny’s hobbies include playing golf, kayaking, and watching football. 

Brandon Lovelady

Brandon is originally from Mobile, AL. Brandon has been playing golf since the age of six, and has built an impressive resume as both an amateur and professional golfer. As a junior golfer, he was a full time student at the IMG/David Ledbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Florida. While there he was exposed to some of the best instructors in the game. He played his collegiate golf at the University of North Alabama. As a professional, he has twice represented Georgia as a member of the Georgia PGA Assistants Cup team and was the 2012 Georgia PGA Assistants Champion.

A talented club-fitter with ten years of experience to his credit, Brandon has a wealth of knowledge about the scientific aspects of ball flight and how to make a club perform its best for each player. He is a Certified Flightscope professional, trained in the use of the radar based launch monitors. He is also certified by Eyeline Golf as a 4PE putting instructor, US Kids Golf, the Positive Coaching Alliance and is a member of the 4D Motion Sports advisory panel.

Brandon loves spending time in the outdoors and when he’s not at the golf course he can most likely be found hiking in throughout the southeast.
