Originally from the state of Ohio, I am pleased to make my home in Aiken, South Carolina. I left Ohio for South Carolina over 10 years ago, making my way through Aiken, Columbia, and Charleston before accepting a position in Chicago, Illinois. I managed several restaurants during this time working for a corporate chain as well as running a privately owned restaurant with two business partners. I am happy to have found Woodside Plantation Country Club and to be able to call Aiken my home once again.
I began my hospitality career with Carrabba’s Italian Grill, where I spent over 6 years learning all about food, wine, and service. Although it was a difficult decision, I left Carrabba’s to help two friends open up their own restaurant. The time I spent with them was fantastic! Creating menus, hiring staff, and designing the layout of the restaurant itself were all very challenging tasks I thoroughly enjoyed. My most recent restaurant venture was a Japanese restaurant/sushi bar located in the Charleston area in which I was the General Manager. After two years in this role, I accepted a position in Chicago as the Director of Business Development for a media production company. This role was extremely challenging, but taught me an entirely new side of the business world.
After spending a year (including a terrible blizzard) in Chicago, I realized it was time to make my way back home to South Carolina. While visiting family in Aiken, I found my position was available at Woodside, and have been very happy to be here ever since…
