One of America's most successful and beloved comedians, Paul Reiser has done it all: star in a top-rated sitcom; appear in the number-one movie; and write a New York Times' best-selling book. Born and raised in New York City, Reiser's breakout role was in Barry Levinson's 1982 smash Diner - the same movie that jumpstarted the careers of his up-and-coming costars, Kevin Bacon, Steven Guttenberg and Mickey Rourke. He followed Diner with roles in Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop II, along with a countertype role as the villainous Burke in James Cameron's Aliens. But it was his character Paul Buchman on Mad About You, the runaway monster-hit NBC series that he starred in with Helen Hunt, that propelled Reiser to Hollywood's A List. Mad About You aired from 1992 to 1999 and would ultimately capture nine Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, a Peabody Award, a Genesis Award and was named "Best Quality Comedy" by Viewers For Quality Television. The series also helped launch the international phenomenon Friends: Lisa Kudrow's offbeat waitress character of Ursula was the twin sister of her Friends' character, Phoebe Buffay, and the two series had multiple crossover episodes.
Paul was the author of three best-selling books: Couplehood, Babyhood and Familyhood. He was named one of "100 Greatest Comedians of All Time" by Comedy Central.
