Son of prominent Hollywood producer, Arthur Hornblow Jr., Michael Hornblow will discuss what a producer does in taking a film from an idea to a finished film. "The Band Wagon" stars Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse, was directed by Vincente Minelli, and won three Oscars:
"Inherit the Wind" Introduction by Dean Jack Boger, UNC School of Law Friday, March 2
This classic film, staring Spencer Tracy and Fredric March, is a thinly disguised account of the famous "Scopes Monkey Trial" in Tennessee in the summer of 1925. In his introduction, Dean Boger will put a frame around the picture, literally, providing the historical background for the trial and the fine points of the law at the heart of the drama.
