ClubCorp Couples' Tournament
La Quinta, CA
April 18 - 21, 2016
Carved by time between some of the oldest and newest mountain ranges in North America lies PGA WEST, a world famous golf resort just minutes from Palm Springs and Palm Desert, California and host for the first time to the ClubCorp Couples Tournament. Join 80 Couples to play Pete Dye’s TPC Stadium Course, The Mountain Course and The Dunes along with the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course. One round each of Best Ball, Scramble and Modified Alternate Shot. Lodging will be at the La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. This desert hideaway at the foot of the spectacular Santa Rosa Mountains recently completed a multi-million dollar restoration.
Both divisions will play Pete Dye’s Meadows Course, Dunes Course and TPC Stadium Course in tournament play. The combination of these 3 courses provides the best of golf for each player.
Mountain Course –located at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, this course offers elevated tee boxes with pot bunkers and rock formations. Enjoy the signature 16th hole to appreciate the full beauty of this course, named one of Golf Magazines Top 100.
The Dunes - This course offers rolling links-style golf with rolling mounds set against a backdrop of rugged mountain landscapes, which has hosted the PGA Club Professional Championship, the PGA Tour Final Qualifying School, the California State Open and the Ladies NCAA Championship.
TPC Stadium Course - The TPC Stadium Course—home of the CareerBuilder Challenge—is where legends have made history. The infamous 17th tee, known as “Alcatraz” was inspired by the 17th island green at TPC Sawgrass, and has been named one of the best Par 3 holes in Southern California. Pete Dye’s designs of unique undulations, cavernous bunkers and peninsula and island par 3s make this a must play course. Tournament highlights include the Skins Game, Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course - To give you the opportunity to play an additional course, Practice rounds will be on the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course, where around every corner you will find a new challenge, including the rare feature of two island greens. The Nicklaus Tournament along with The Stadium Course is the bi-annual host of the PGA TOUR’s final round of Q-School, which is attended by some of the best players in the world. Nicknamed by Members as the Nick Tourney, it is both very forgiving off the tee and extremely demanding around the greens. Without a doubt, a “must play” for not only a great test of golf, but for its magnificent desert setting.
Registration will begin December 4.
