Local business leader and founding member Jim Holmes had always dreamed of having a restaurant on the top floor of a downtown building where diners could enjoy a lovely ambience overlooking beautiful Winston-Salem. He and fellow business leaders also saw the need for a Private Club that would be open to all, regardless of race, gender, religion or cultural background. The dream came to life in 1985 when construction began on an elegant structure of emerald green glass that would eventually become the BB&T Financial Center. The Piedmont Club opened its doors on March 31, 1987.
The Piedmont Club now boasts some 1,100 members from all walks of life. The 13,232 square feet of dining and meeting space is a refuge, a "home away from home" for our members and their guests. Members enjoy elegant lunches, brunches and wine dinners in the Cardinal Room, with the beautiful rugged profile of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Breakfast and dinner are served in the trendy, bistro setting of the Triad Grille overlooking the city lights. Our Library, Dogwood Room, Pilot View, Winston & Salem rooms are ideal for private events, from business meetings to bridal luncheons.
The Piedmont Club's extensive wine list, first-class service, location and tradition, plus membership privileges in more than 250 private clubs and resorts throughout the world, make the Piedmont Club the number one choice in the Piedmont Triad.
