In 1974, Walnut Creek Country Club was established in a new and growing area of Mansfield. This untouched area with two creeks and many species of trees, primarily Oaks and Pecans, were the ideal setting for two Championship golf courses. The original course, the Pecan Course, was created by Don January and the later addition of the Oak Course was designed by Mark Brooks. Both courses offer their own unique challenges to the game utilizing the natural beauty of the area.
In 1976, ClubCorp, the world leader and largest owner and operator of private clubs and resorts purchased the club. As the community of Mansfield progressed, so did Walnut Creek Country Club. Today the members of the club enjoy our 36 holes of Championship golf, 14 lighted tennis courts, a junior Olympic swimming pool with a slide and a diving board, a kid friendly pool, monthly member events and the friendships made at the club. Members have many opportunities and are encouraged to get involved and participate in various committees and associations.
