According to PGA legend and course designer Jack Nicklaus, "The golf course at Nicklaus Golf Club is outstanding for several reasons, including its beautiful views, rolling fairways and capability to challenge both the amateur and the seasoned golfer. The course's appeal to a wide range of golfers is due, in part, to the four sets of tees used to vary distance and angle to the green."
Many of the tees are elevated from the fairway to give players confidence with distance. However, when the tees are placed at the black championship markers and the rough is grown out a little bit, the course at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate presents a stiff challenge for even the most experienced golfer.
This natural, classic Nicklaus designed golf course blends harmoniously with its surroundings. The seasoned golfer as well as the enthusiastic novice will thoroughly enjoy playing this challenging, fair, and aesthetically pleasing golf course.

In Jack's words, "We have not forced or tried to create features that aren't natural to the site. Therefore, our landforms are very broad, bunkers are deep, but relatively simple in shape and the entire site flows very naturally. We have taken into consideration the Kansas winds by careful placement of the tees, width of fairways, and the openings into the greens. Every golfer will have fun and that's what it is all about."
