The Hills Country Club offers two championship courses by Nicklaus Design. No other private country club in Central Texas offers members this caliber of courses; The Hills – a signature Jack Nicklaus course and Flintrock Falls - a Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II co-design.
Flintrock Falls compliments the existing Hills Course with a dynamic new layout designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II. You will be continually challenged with these courses. Play every day, because with the flexibility of two courses, one will always be open if the other is closed for overseeding, or for the traditional one day a week maintenance. Currently the Hills course is scheduled to close on Monday and Flintrock Falls on Wednesday.
Learn to play your best golf at the world-recognized Academy of Golf (Open 7 days a week). Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this is the first site ever designed and constructed specifically for learning to play better golf. The Academy complex has a 500-yard learning center with target greens and three championship golf holes. Tom Kite ranks it as the #1 training and practice facility in the country. It’s the perfect place to hone your golf skills.
If you haven’t had the chance to play the Hills course in a while, come out and see what you’re missing with the addition of Flintrock Falls.
Lakeway Country Club features 36 holes of golf played over two very unique layouts. Both courses, Live Oak and Yaupon, offer Members, Guest and Resort players various challenges with rolling hills, blind tee shots and tree lined fairways.
Live Oak features a par 3, hole # 3, which is commonly referred to as JAWS. The hole plays 204 yards from the gold tees over a deep ravine that gobbles up a shot that falls short of the green.
Recently at Live Oak Golf Course, we placed 18 Blue Diamonds on the course to challenge juniors and beginners. The length of the golf course can take away some of the fun of learning to play golf. This hurdle can be overcome by shortening the distance of each hole. A family course set up simply involves establishing teeing areas forward of the “red” tees to make the course friendlier to kids and beginners.
Yaupon features hole # 18, a 503-yard par 5, playing down hill to a pond with a 50 feet drop in elevation. After successfully crossing the pond the player is challenged with an approach shot, which rises 40 feet to a tricky green.
