Hot Wedding Trends
Drive Away in something other than a limo:
Creative brides are looking for more unusual vehicles to leave in. Today’s hot getaways: antique cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, decorated golf carts, horse and carriage, fire engines, convertible cars.
Make your cake express your personal style:
Designs can run the gamut from simple monogrammed styles, tower of cupcakes, croguet-en-bouche (french wedding pastries arranged in a tower with spun sugar), make each layer a different favorite flavor.
Cut the wedding cake early:
The bride and groom still look fresh, the photographer is still working and alert, and all the guests are still at the reception. This also gives the staff time to paint or garnish the plates before serving the cake.
Anniversary Dance
Skip the garter and bouquet toss in favor of an Anniversary Dance (or do both). Worried that your single friends will avoid the garter or bouquet toss? Instead, while a slow song plays, all couples are invited to the dance floor. The MC begins to eliminate them by asking them to leave the dance floor if they have been married LESS than six hours, and later, LESS than 1 year, five years and so forth until the last couple remaining has been married the longest. Present with the bouquet and/or garter and take a photograph with bride and groom.
Casual Rehearsal Dinners
Rather than hosting a formal dinner, more brides and grooms are finding that a more casual affair creates a better atmosphere for mixing and mingling among family and friends that are just meeting each other for the first time. Barbecues, luas and mexican fiestas are festive and fun settings that encourage conversation.

Chocolate Fountains
Ditch the traditional groom’s cake and satisfy everyone’s chocolate craving with a melted tower of flowing chocolate fondue. You can dip fruit, cookies, marshmallows, pretzels or just about anything. It is a wonderfully scrumptious conversation piece that will enhance any event.
