General Information
For over 40 years, we have provided members and guests the highest quality of private and corporate events. Today, some of Jacksonville's largest companies rely on us whenever they are planning their most important business occasions. The U-club provides personalized service and professional accommodations for a variety of business meetings and events. The University Club of Jacksonville has multiple private dining rooms available that can accommodate groups both large and small. Whether you are looking to host your executive board or employee partners, your guests will marvel in the exceptional service and exquisite food the club offers. Because each event is unique, every event is customized to reflect your individual style and taste, incorporating elements such as exquisite culinary creations, fanciful florals and dramatic decor.
The private dining rooms can accommodate eight to 200 hundred guests for a seated event and four hundred for standup receptions. Call our Private Events Director for specific minimums and requirements.
Hours of Operation
The club is open Monday through Friday for morning, afternoon and evening entertaining. We offer a la carte dining Wednesday through Saturday evenings. Private events may be hosted on Monday and Tuesday evenings, with a preset menu meeting a minimum food and beverage commitment. We are traditionally closed during the day on Saturday and all day Sunday, but will host private events with reservation of the entire club.
Hosting an Event at the University Club includes:
China, Glassware & Silver, Tablecloths (white or black) & Napkins (white, ivory or black) & Club Table Lamps & Tables and Chairs & Staff to service room throughout the entire event & Complete set up and breakdown.
F&B Minimums and Room Charges
Each private room has a food and beverage minimum associated with its use. The minimums vary based on the size of the room, meal period and time of year. The minimums include all food and beverage items. They do not include miscellaneous items, amenities, taxes or service charge. If the food and beverage minimums are met, there will be no additional room charge.
Non-Member Fees
Non-member fees are applied to all events not hosted by a club member. Non-member parties that secure a member sponsor will be charged a reduced non-member fee. Please have your member sponsor contact the club’s private event department prior to the event. Billing will not flow through the member’s account, rather be established in a guest account, good for the life of the event.
Function Sheet Details
As a courtesy, your sales manager will provide you with an estimated event proposal (also known as a function sheet). This includes typical allowances for food, beverage and services related amenities provided by the club. The details of the function sheet will be constantly revised, as decisions are made. Your sales manager will work with you through all of the details for your event. Our request is that all menu specifics and details be planned at least two weeks prior to your event. A final draft of the function sheet will require your signature, reflecting the final guest count and total estimated charges.
Menu Selections
To ensure the finest quality of food and service, a planned menu is required for groups of 10 or more. Groups under 10 guests may order from the club’s a la carte dinner menu. For groups of 10 to 20 guests having a plated menu, the club would be happy to offer a choice of 3 entrees the day of the event. For groups of more than 20 guests having a plated menu, host may offer a choice of 3 entrees; however we require each attendees order 72 hours in advance from the host. If there is an entrée choice, each guest must have a place card with an entrée indicator for our staff, upon request the University Club will provide the cards for $2.00 per guest. Options are represented in our banquet menus. We are happy to customize a menu for you, within the capabilities of our Chef and the club.
Parking
Parking is available in the parking lot located just before our building "Riverplace Tower" in front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel along Riverplace Boulevard. Additional parking is available in the parking garage east of our building "Riverplace Tower", this garage is connected to the building. Nominal charge during the day. There is no charge in the evenings or on the weekends.
Dress Code
The University Club is business casual. Please refrain from wearing jeans, shorts, sneakers or athletic wear. For evening events, we request that all gentlemen wear a shirt with a collar.
