Instructions: Adding an Email Address To Your “Safe Senders” List

There are several benefits to adding trusted email addresses to your “Safe Senders” list and it only takes a few moments to do so. These benefits include:
Faster loading of e-mail
Prevent e-mail from going into junk e-mail folder
Images automatically load, no need to extra click to download images (this applies to some e-mail clients)
Prevent e-mails from being rejected, and missing out on key information
The method for adding an email address to a “Safe Senders” list varies for each e-mail client. Below are instructions on how to do so for some of the most commonly used e-mail services.

AOL
Version 9.0 or higher
Click Mail Menu in the menu bar
Select the Address Book option
When the Address Book pops up, click on the Add button
When the Address Card for New Contact window loads, paste the from address of the eNewsletter into the box labeled “ Other Email ”
Make the eNewsletter email address the “ Primary E-Mail ” address by selecting the check box
Click the Save button
Version 7.0 or 8.0
Click Mail Menu in the menu bar
Click on and open Mail Controls
Click Next
Select Customize Mail Controls for this Screen Name
Click Next
Select either:
Allow e-Mail from all AOL Members, e-Mail Addresses, and Domains
Allow e-Mail from all AOL members, and from the List Domains and E-mail Addresses. Block e-mail from all others
If you select option 1, Allow e-Mail from all AOL Members, e-Mail Addresses, and Domains , you have finished the process
If you select option 2, Allow e-Mail from all AOL members, and from the List Domains and E-mail Addresses . Block e-Mail from all others . Please continue with the following instructions:
Enter the email address you wish to add in the provided field and click Add
Click Next
Select Allow this Screen Name to send and receive mail with pictures and files .
Click Save

Hotmail
Navigate to your Inbox
Click the Options C ontacts tab
Click the Junk Mail Protection option (towards the top of the page) Safe List from the menu located on the left side of the page
Select the Safe List link
Enter the email address you wish to add in the Type an address or domain field
Click Add

Comcast
Click the Address Book link in the left menu
Click Add Contact at the top of your Address Book
To add a contact, you may enter information in the General, Phone, Address, Internet and Personal pages. Use the tabs at the top to switch from page to page.
Click Add when you are finished entering all contact information

MSN
Click Options , located in the upper right corner of the screen
Click Mail from the menu
Click Junk E-mail Protection
Click Mailing Lists
Enter the email address you wish to add in the Type a single e-mail address field
Click Add

Yahoo!
Click Options then Mail Options in the upper right hand of the screen
Click Filters
Click Add
In the Filter Name field type club's name
On the From header: row select Contains from the pull-down menu and type the email address you wish to add
Select Inbox from the Move the Message to pull-down menu
Click Add Filter

Outlook 2003
On the Tools menu, click Options .
On the Preferences tab , under E-mail, click Junk E-mail .
Click the Safe Senders or Safe Recipients tab.
Click Add .
In the Enter an e-mail address or Internet domain name to be added to the list box , enter the email address you wish to add, and then click OK .
Notes If you want your Contacts to be considered safe senders, select the Also trust e-mail from my Contacts check box on the Safe Senders tab. By default, the check box is selected. All e-mail addresses in your Contacts folder will then be used by the Junk E-mail Filter to evaluate messages.

Outlook 2007
On the Tools menu, click Options .
On the Preferences tab , under E-mail, click Junk E-mail .
Click the Safe Senders tab.
Click Add .
In the Enter an e-mail address or Internet domain name to be added to the list box , enter the email address you wish to add, and then click OK .

Gmail
Open Your Contacts List and Click the Contacts link . This action will open your Contacts List.
Add a New Contact by Clicking the Contacts Link . This action will open the Add Contact form.
Add Email Address you wish to add into the "Email" field, and click the " Add Contact " button.
Click the Save button
