FAQ's

What is the “Sharing Makes Cents” plan?
“Sharing Makes Cents” is a way for you to reduce your base monthly dues for the upcoming year by sponsoring a New Member to Club Membership. The plan also extends the same dues reduction to your Membership candidate.

How do I take advantage of the “Sharing Makes Cents” plan?
Simply refer a New Member to Membership in the Club at key Center by submitting your candidate’s name to the Membership Office. Once they have enrolled as a Member, you and the New Member will enjoy a reduction in your base dues for the upcoming year. Both sponsoring and new members will be required to sign a one-year loyalty agreement.

How does my candidate enroll?
Your candidate completes a Membership application identifying you as their Member sponsor. The Board of Governors will accept their application with a $200 application fee in lieu of our current initiation fee. Junior and Young Executives will enjoy a $100 initiation fee.

May my candidate enroll in any category of Membership?
Your candidate may select their choice of Membership. The reduction will apply to the base dues to the category of their choice. Honorary, Life, Alumni (AP) Memberships are not eligible.

Will my reduction be effected by my candidate’s choice of Membership?
Yes, you will receive a reduction of your current base dues, dependent on their Membership category selection. Honorary, Life, Alumni (AP) Memberships are not eligible.

What does “base dues” mean?
The reduction applies only to your Club at Key Center monthly dues. North Coast Society and Signature Gold benefits are not eligible and will continue to be charged to your account on a monthly basis.

What if I want to change my category of Membership?
You may add enhancements to your Membership as your needs change and expand.

Can I give my Shared Membership as a gift?
Yes! Several Members have expressed interest in purchasing a Club at Key Center membership for friends, family members or as a recognition gift for their organization’s employees. Please advise the Club Membership Department if your Shared Membership is intended to be a gift and we will provide an attractive certificate and summary of benefits for the recipient.

What happens after the one-year period?
This is a one-year offer. Given the current economic environment, the Club feels this opportunity will be attractive to certain Members on a short-term basis. At the conclusion of one year, Members in the reduced dues categories will be subject to annual dues increases.

Who is eligible to join under this Program so that we will both get the benefit?
An existing partner can recommend any candidate for Membership that has not been a Member at The Club at Key Center since June 1, 2008.

What is the price reduction for the current year?
Our executive membership currently stands at $152.00. When you bring in a new candidate for Membership, you will both have your dues set at $85.00 for the current year. The last time this Club charged that little for our executive membership was 1997. If you bring in a candidate in a lower classification than executive, your dues will decrease to $102.00. There will be commensurate reductions in all the other categories of Membership at the Club. Social will go from $109.00 to $65.00. Junior Membership goes from $115.00 down to $65.00 when they bring in a partner and Young Executive goes from $87.00 down to $55.00.

What about Members who have left the Club in the last 11 months?
We have a special re-instatement program so that those who had to leave the Club due to economic circumstances can rejoin in pairs and take advantage of this program.

What happens to my dues if one person, of my partnership, needs to resign?
The remaining Member will have 60 days to replace the resigned Member. If the resigned Member is not replaced, the remaining Member will be subject to standard dues.
