Brad has extensive experience in Resort and private Club operations (including the Arizona Biltmore, the Hilton El Conquistador, and most recently at Phil Mickelson's Stone Canyon Club in Oro Valley). He is a graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson. Brad was born and raised in Tucson, and he and his wife Kate have lived in Phoenix for eight years; they have two children, Charlotte (Charley), 8, and Kennedy, 3, and a chocolate Lab named 'Palmer'.
Melanie Brown joined beautiful Anthem Country Club as the Membership Director in July of 2015. She relocated from another ClubCorp club, Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge, California where she was the Membership Director from 2010 - 2015.
Originally from Bishop, California, Melanie has lived all around Southern California. Melanie was awarded Club100 in 2012, 2013 and 2015. She was also awarded President Club in 2013. On her free time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her sisters and family, volunteering at the dog shelter, hanging out with her friends, riding her horse and playing with her precious rescued puppy, Cookie!
Born and raised in Southern California, Lauren always had a knack for event planning and design. While attending Arizona State University, Lauren began her hospitality career at a boutique Scottsdale hotel and eventually moved into large resorts and hotels. Inspired by her meticulous attention to detail and appreciation for personal touches, Lauren later joined Southern California’s premier catering company where she specialized in weddings and corporate events with over 20 preferred venues, sometimes performing 16 weddings in one day! It was there that Lauren discovered her inner-foodie and immense passion for flawlessly executed events and weddings. After her husband’s relocation to Arizona, Lauren found herself at the Phoenix Convention Center focusing on corporate, non-profit, government and social markets. Her scale of events ranged from small meetings of 10 guests to galas of over 4,000. Her largest annual event was the ever-growing Phoenix Comicon where she coordinated catering and concessions for the event’s entirety, drawing over 120,000 guests in one weekend. In 2015, Lauren gained the opportunity to work with the National Football League for the NFL Experience and NFL Honors, where she created custom high-end menus for team owners, coaches, players, and staff. Lauren joined ClubCorp in August 2015 and hasn't looked back since! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two beagles and can usually be found in her backyard listening to Dave Matthews Band.
Travis, a Pacific Northwest native, has been a PGA Class A Member for 12 years working in the private club sector on the west coast. During his time in California he was named San Joaquin Valley Chapter (Nor Cal) Golf Professional of the Year and Player of the Year. He joins us most recently from Broken Top Club in Bend, Oregon where he played a key role in building the membership to record numbers. His wife, Angie, is also an accomplished golfer and certified Sommelier. They have a daughter Addison (9) and rescue dog Rocky.
When not playing golf, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and is looking forward to spending more time with extended family in Arizona.
Kyle is class A PGA Professional (since 2012) and a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. While attending school he gained valuable experience during his internships at Geneva National Golf Resort in Lake Geneva, WI, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, OR, and The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. Kyle has been working in the golf industry since 2007 and started working at Anthem Golf and Country Club in the fall of 2016. Kyle started playing the game at the age of 7 when his grandmother enrolled him in the junior program at a local country club in his hometown in Wisconsin. Ever since then he has had a love for the game that continues to grow stronger every year. He enjoys staying competitive by playing in Southwest PGA Section Events during the summer months. He is very excited and honored to play a large part in Golf Operations here at Anthem and loves his role as the Director of Player Development.
Coach Chris has been in the Tennis Industry for more than 20 years with extensive experience as a competitive player and administrator. Before moving to Arizona in 2005, Chris was the Head Professional at Bally Racquet Club in Kansas City, MO and served as Director of Tennis at Valley Oak Racquet Club in Red Bluff, CA. In 2010 and again in 2016 he was honored with the USPTA Southwest Professional of the Year award. In addition, he served on the USPTA Southwest Board for 8 years and on the USPTA National Executive Committee from 2012-2016. Chris played collegially at the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with a BA in Journalism (1998). He also received his Masters in Organizational Management in 2004 from the University of Phoenix. Previously Chris has served as Director of Tennis at the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe, AZ and also as the Tennis Supervisor at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex here in Arizona from 2007 to 2010. While at STRC the complex was named Facility of the Year by the USTA. Chris served as Site Coordinator for the Fed Cup quarterfinal versus Brazil in 2008.

Anthony Esparza is a recognized food & beverage and hospitality leader known for developing strategic vision to assist the development of optimal staff performance. He provides a range of unique and executive-grade policy interpretation, advising on recruitment and training plans, consultation on general front/back house operations issues and concerns, and credited with strong operational improvement at multiple restaurants in Las Vegas, Houston and Scottsdale. As a top food and beverage executive, Anthony has developed new, award winning programs and revamped menus to accommodate the changing needs of members/customers to help drive operational revenue and guest satisfaction.
Anthony has a passion for training and developing the staff and in addition to managing operations, participated in company-wide mentoring and training programs to help develop and coach others. With regards to innovation, Anthony effectively executed the International Beer Program at Comme Ca by David Myers Group. This award-winning program contributed to a $6.5M revenue budget and spearheaded future accolades for the restaurant.
During his time with Carmine’s NYC, Anthony orchestrated all facets of Las Vegas’ largest restaurant and contributed to the community significantly. These efforts were recognized by the Nevada Restaurant Association in 2016.
With a focus on strategic solutions to best elevate the efficiency and quality of operations, Anthony was a significant contributor to the improved 100+ person team at La Table Houston. He spearheaded comprehensive advancements and was awarded “Best New Restaurant” by Houstonian Magazine.
Most recently Anthony was with our sister property, Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert, AZ. He received “Rising Star Award” for 2019 by ClubCorp, Seville Golf and Country Club for achievements. He was also selected for Pacific Region Task Force for Club Projects such as, Micros Point of Sale Property Migration at Blackstone/Black Bear in Denver, CO and successfully directed the execution of event operations for 2020 ClubCorp General Manager Leadership Conference at Canyon Gate in Las Vegas, NV.
Throughout Anthony’s hospitality career he has received many awards and recognitions:
- Top 3 Finalist for “Restauranteur of the Year” for Las Vegas and received multiple State of Nevada Congressional Recognitions.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University and is currently completing a Certification as a Maxwell Speaker, Trainer and Leader. When not working he enjoys spending time with family, wife Kori and 3 year old son Liam, boating, cooking and mentoring future leaders in the hospitality industries.
Amanda has been in the fitness industry since 1987 – Certified in various fitness formats. Amanda is from the beautiful city
of Cape Town South-Africa, and now loves living in
the Valley of the Sun.
Amanda’s goals at Anthem Golf and Country Club are to keep improving the level of Customer care, member services and Fitness programming. She will continue to grow various programs within the Fitness Department.

David is a charter member of the Pickleball Professional Registry (‘PPR’): PPR is the official education and certification partner of USA Pickleball Assoc. (USAPA). He is also a member of Pickleball Coaching International. David plays in Pickleball tournaments all over the US and has recently won medals at the US OPEN, the Grand Canyon State Games and, most recently, he and his partner, Mary Kozak, won the Silver medal in the 5.0 mixed doubles event at the Mesa Regal Tournament. David invests a lot of his time at Pickleball – playing and studying the game, and talking to renowned coaches across the country about the game of pickleball, new methods, etc. He is fanatical about drilling and has a library full of drills.
Ariadna has lived in Arizona for 18 years. Born in Mexico, she has learned to love Arizona and her life here. Ariadna was awarded Super Star at ClubCorp in 2013, she loves her job and is a dedicated, honest and resilient worker. She always gives her full effort. In her free time, Ariadna enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, go to sporting events and travel to Mexico to visit her mom.

Born and raised in Central New York I started my first job ever as a dishwasher upon my mother’s request to get a job soon as I was of age. Far from a career and really just more of a means to finance my ambitions as a reckless teenager in the ‘80s, the culture of the kitchen began to hold my attention and I wanted to hang with the big guys on the line. The only thing in high school that received effort on my end was art. I would draw for hours using several mediums resulting in local college art competitions and acknowledgment from our school magazine. So I ended up going to college for architectural drafting, along with a short stint at the acclaimed Munson Williams Proctor Institute of the Arts. Cooking at that time was a means to pay the bills and fund school along with pay off my bar tab, but I realized after time that culinary was a legitimate career choice and abandoned all schooling to work day and night. After pursuing a couple ambitious efforts at high end independent restaurants in the local culinary scene, I began to crave more in the form of knowledge, experience and adventure which led me at the age of 27 on a culinary crusade toward the wild west. A few months after arriving in AZ I began working at Christopher’s Fermier Brasserie & Paolas wine bar for the acclaimed Chef Christopher Gross. It was there I discovered I knew nothing about the culinary arts at this level and was taught to respect what many have sacrificed so much to create, a culinary career.
Prior to holding the position of Executive Chef at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club for four year, I held the position of Sous Chef at BLT Steak @ JW Marriott Camelback Inn for three years. Those three years led to the leadership position as Executive Chef @ BLT Steak (Bistro Laurent Tourondel) for the next three years, reporting to a corporate team of chefs under Chef Tourondel. Early days consisted of head down and hands on training under the tutelage of Christopher Gross (currently Geordies @ Wrigley Mansion & Christophers @ Sky Harbor), Vincent Guerithault (Vincents on Camelback) and Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro, The Mission, Fat Ox). Both Chef Gross and Guerithault are local renowned James Beard Award winning Chefs (one among the list of several awards). Chef Laurent Tourondel has been acknowledged as (Bon Appetit’s Restauranteur of the Year 2007) while Chef Carters Zinc Bistro was elected as one of the top 10 new Bistros in North America by Food & Wine.
When I’m not in the confines of the professional kitchen, I enjoy cooking at home with my wife who I had met in the kitchen at BLT Steak while she was pursuing her own dreams as a chef. Although a recent career change as a real estate agent at AZ & Associates has pulled her out of the kitchen, she will always be a chef to me (we still collaborate on new menus and wine dinners). We have an amazing little 6-year-old girl Sofia who keeps us very active spending the hot summer months enjoying time in Pine, AZ hiking, fishing or just absorbing our surroundings. True alone time for me is going to the gym, gardening, listening to music and I have been known to go on hours long bike treks.
