Brett Kimura

Brett grew up in Denver playing golf in high school and for four years at Whittier College (NCAA Division III) in California and has worked in the golf industry since 2007.

Most recently, Brett served as General Manager at Diamond Bar Golf Course, where he helped the club achieve the 2015 Los Angeles County Course of the Year Award – one of his proudest accomplishments. His roles at various clubs also have included Assistant General Manager, Director of Sales and National Membership Sales Advisor.

Brett and his wife Maria have one daughter.

Megen Flowers

Megen’s true passion lies within the hospitality industry, creating valuable and lifelong experiences for Members and their friends. Megen graduated from the Collin’s School of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona in 2011 and has been working in the Club industry for since 2007. She was most recently at Los Coyotes County Club as the Event Sales Manager, and prior, SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach as the Director of Member Relations. 

Megen resides in Corona with her husband Scott, and they love to get out play golf every chance they get.

Andrea Deputy

A Riverside, California Native, Andrea grew up singing in her church choir and horseback riding. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California Baptist University. After taking some time from her career to care for her daughter, she re-entered the workforce as the Assistant Event Manager for the San Bernardino Elks Lodge. Ever since that day 7 years ago, her passion for weddings and events has grown.

Most recently, Andrea held the position of Director of Catering and Events at Andiamo Italia in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where she lived for two years. She believes in taking a nurturing approach to creating events that feel natural to her clients.

When not working hard at the club, you can find Andrea out line dancing, at Disneyland with her daughter, off-roading in the desert, baking, or binge-watching Fixer Upper.

Stephen Vorhees

Role: Tennis Director

Steve has been in the tennis industry for over 36 years. In 2003, he began his second stint as Director of Tennis at Canyon Crest Country Club. Besides his duties at the Club, Steve serves as the President of the USPTA District 5 in Southern California.

Steve is a fantastic ambassador of the game of tennis and Canyon Crest Country Club and its members are proud to have him. Steve has earned a Professional 1 level certification from the USPTA and brings a wealth of experience to his profession.

After a successful playing career at Fullerton College, Steve played professionally throughout the world. As a coach, Steve has continued his pursuit of excellence by helping other top players play on the international level and earn tennis scholarships.

Steve takes personal satisfaction in introducing new players to the game of tennis as well as helping others to reach their personal best on court.

Nick Carlone

Nick was born and raised in the restaurant and food industry. His father owned two very successful Italian restaurants in San Bernardino as well as a commercial catering company. Growing up when Nick wasn’t out on the baseball field he was either in the kitchen learning to cook or out talking to the guests.

After high school he managed the catering company and eventually moved on to work in a chain restaurant, both front and back of the house, as well as a high end grocery store.

Nick moved to Orange County where he spent over eight years working for Jays Catering, one of the best catering companies in the O.C. As their Head Captain and Director of Service Arts, Nick led thousands of event, hundreds of weddings and trained dozens of servers and leads.

Nick then went on to become the General Manager and Creative Director of Canyon Catering, a small family owned company that is now voted the number two catering company in Orange County two years in a row.

Longing to be closer to home and his family, Nick jumped at the chance to become the Food and Beverage Director at the Canyon Crest Country Club. Recognizing a great team, a club with endless potential and room to grow it was an opportunity he couldn’t resist.

Nick resides in Riverside with his wife and two kids. He enjoys spending his time with his family, cooking, being outdoors and training in karate.

Kyle Lewis

Kyle Lewis is the Club’s Golf Professional. Prior to joining Canyon Crest, Kyle was the First Assistant Golf Professional at our sister club Bernardo Heights Country Club.

Kyle was born and raised in Riverside. He is a Riverside Poly High graduate and was a member of the Poly golf team. Kyle’s golfing career led him to Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio where he majored in Sport Management and Business Accounting.

Kyle found his passion for the business side of golf when he interned for the Northern Texas PGA in the Junior Golf Department.

Upon graduating from college,Kyle moved to Buffalo, New York to work as the Junior Golf Director for the Western New York PGA (WNYPGA). Kyle made his way back to California to start his career with ClubCorp as an Assistant Golf Professional at Mission Hills Country Club in December 2013.

Kyle was fortunate enough to work the final major of 2013 at Oak Hill Country Club (PGA Championship) for the WNYPGA and the first major of 2014 at Mission Hills Country Club (ANA Inspiration).

Nick Reyes

Nick Reyes was born and raised in Moreno Valley, California. He grew up with a love for sports and played baseball through high school but always had a passion for golf. His golf career started at Moreno Valley Ranch while he completed the Turf Management Program at Mount San Jacinto College. Nick’s golf career led him to Navy Golf Course in Seal Beach, Pelican Hill Resort, Canyon Crest Country Club, & Fountaingrove Golf & Athletic Club in Santa Rosa. Nick returned to Canyon Crest Country Club as the new Golf Course Superintendent in January 2018.

Maria Hernandez

Role: Member Relations Coordinator

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Maria was raised in Whittier California, and spent her entire upbringing in her family’s Italian Restaurant. Maria was eager to be the first family member to attend college, and she received her Bachelors Degree in Human Services, while she continued to run her family’s restaurant.
After 25 years in the food service industry, Maria looks forward to using her customer service, food and hospitality knowledge to better serve our members to the fullest potential. She is excited to be working with members and looks forward to providing them with memorable experiences and magic moments.
In her free time, Maria loves to cook while enjoying a glass of her favorite wine. She also enjoys watching movies (especially chick-flicks) and relaxing by the pool. Most of all, she loves to spend time with her two little boys and husband.

Rafael Garcia

Role: Executive Chef

Canyon Crest would like to welcome our new Executive Chef Rafael Garcia.

Rafael entered the culinary world in 2008 after sustaining a career ending injury that serendipitously pushed him to follow a lifelong passion, cooking. He enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in North Hollywood where for two years he worked under the tutelage of some of top instructors in California. After graduating, Rafael moved to Florida to work at Club Med in St Lucie. It was here where he leaned the art of service and fine dining on a grand scale. Missing his family and friends, Rafael decided to move back to California. After working for Amtrak and The Sheraton, Rafael became the Head Special Events Chef for two of the top catering companies in Orange County; Jays Catering and Canyon Catering. In 2017 Rafael joined the Canyon Crest Team and became our Head Banquet Chef. Over the last two years Rafael proved to be an exemplary team player and leader among his crew. In January of 2019 his passion for food, service and leadership earned him the position of Executive Chef. We want thank Rafael for his endless dedication and hard work and we look forward what new and exciting creations he and his team have to offer.
